When he’ s not focused on cricket, there’ s also the chance to explore other activities. Developing a collection of designer eyewear might not seem like an obvious diversion for a world-class sportsman, but he’ s now up to his second collection with Carrera Eyewear, following the Pat Cummins Signature Collection, released in 2024. This late-2025 drop reveals some sportier styles.“ I get to design the fit and the feel, which helps shape how I play on the cricket pitch,” he says.“ As a high-performing person, it’ s really interesting to work with people who are at the top of their game.”
The sports star says he’ s excited to continue this creative partnership.“ Eyewear is something I wear every day, Carrera is an iconic global brand with a lot of history, and I also get to design
eyewear to wear on the sports field,” reveals Pat.“ Working with very creative people and designers [ at Carrera ], I’ m out of my comfort zone, but I love it.”
What are the optics of Pat’ s design future?“ With Carrera, we want to make a big impact, not only in optical and lifestyle, but in sport,” he explains.“ We’ re always pushing the boundaries with new sizes, new materials, and going global would be awesome.”
Also in his kit bag of passion projects is the co-authored non-fiction book Tested and a collection of illustrated children’ s picture books. Pat also works with charitable campaigns like Dry July, which encourages people to go alcoholfree to raise funds for people affected by cancer, and Cricket For Climate, a nonprofit movement encouraging players and
people involved in the game to become climate change leaders.
When it comes to enjoying himself, these varied interests play their part.“ Living in line with what you’ re passionate about and what you stand for, it creates a much less stressful life,” says Pat.
He remains open to new ideas, as long as they hold purpose.“ I do the creative projects for my children to create lasting memories,” he says.“ But, hopefully, [ I’ ll continue ] choosing other projects that make an actual tangible difference beyond my cricket career.”
Pat is clear on why he chooses a wellrounded life, from his expertise in the sporting arena to his eclectic mix of other passions.“ I’ m super lucky to have a lot of opportunities and I know they won’ t be there forever,” he says, sounding distinctly grateful.“ I just want to make sure I’ ve made the most of it.”
