• Solar smart: All new warehouses will have solar panels and Costco is currently retrofitting existing warehouses, with upgrades to all locations on the cards.
• Red door program: All Costco warehouses now have insulated dairy and produce cooler door covers that are fitted when the warehouses are closed. This demands less of the refrigeration system and reduces energy usage.
• Drought-resistant gardens: To decrease water usage, Costco uses native plants that require little to no irrigation.
