There is no article this month . Solo Sisters didn ’ t meet in November , but we were looking forward to our annual holiday gathering in the Fireplace Room . There will be more about that in the February issue . We wish everyone in Charbonneau a safe and healthy holiday and New Year ’ s ! See you in 2023 !

Please donate to local food bank

The drop-off time for items to benefit the Wilsonville Food Bank is 8:30 a . m . -1 p . m . on the fourth Wednesday of every month in the main lobby of the first floor next to the Sunshine Division door at the Charbonneau Activity Center . The greatest needs for January include : paper towels , deodorant and shampoo . Other items are welcome too .

Nominations for Wilsonville Rotary ’ s First Citizen are open

The deadline for nominations is Jan . 31

The Rotary Club of Wilsonville is seeking nominations for its annual First Citizen award .

The award is granted to an upstanding citizen in Wilsonville , characterized by their service to the community and chosen out of a pool of community nominations . The deadline for nominations is Jan . 31 .

“ The First Citizen recognizes someone who

community is a focus for ,” Wilsonville Rotary Club President Kyle Bunch said . “ Whether it ’ s their business or their service life , they can either live , work or do service in Wilsonville to qualify .”

Since the creation of the award in 2002 , 27 people have received the title of First Citizen , according to a press release . Last year , “ organizational mastermind ” Lisa Krecklow was chosen for her history of volunteer work , and past First Citizens also include outgoing Wilsonville City Councilor Charlotte Lehan .

“ We ’ re looking for someone whose dedication and service to our community has made a lasting impact on the ethos of what Wilsonville is all about ,” Bunch said .

Anyone can nominate someone for the position by filling out a form at the club ’ s website : www . wilsonvillerotary . com / nominate .

Nominees must be an adult or adult couple who lives or works in Wilsonville . Nominations must include a statement explaining why the nominee is deserving of the award , and self-nominations will not be considered .

Finalists for the position will be announced in February , and a winner will be chosen by a committee of three Rotarians , including Bunch , and two past First Citizens . The award will be presented at the club ’ s Heart of Gold dinner and auction fundraising event on April 7 at the Oregon Golf Club .

“ I would personally encourage anyone who knows someone who has an impact on their own lives or a group or organization that they ’ re part of in Wilsonville to send that nomination in ,” Bunch said .
