Happy New Year !
Now that the festivities are behind us , it ’ s time to set a few healthy goals for 2023 - and I ’ m not talking about taking things away from our lives ( think dieting ). I ’ m talking about
WINKLER adding to our lives — like
fun . And exercise should be fun . If it isn ’ t fun , you ’ ll most likely quit doing it .
Charbonneau offers a variety of exercise and dance classes for all fitness levels . So , ditch the diet , get moving and have some fun . Below are just a sample of the fitness options we offer at Charbonneau Country Club .
Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold is a lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba class designed with seniors in mind . The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance , range of motion and coordination . Try it today ! Zumba is taught by Stephanie Holladay every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:45 a . m . in the Activity Center Recreation Room . Line dancing with Kat returns Jan . 16
Charbonnites had such a great time line dancing with Kat that we asked her to teach another round of classes . Don your cowboy boots and hats and get on over to the Activity Center . Classes begin at 6:30 p . m . Monday , Jan . 16 and will run every other Monday for 20 weeks . The cost is only $ 80 for all 10 classes or you may drop-in for a $ 10 fee . Call the Activity Center at 503- 694-2300 and get your name on the sign-up list . Space is limited . Line dancing is such a fun way to shed those holiday pounds !
New beginning ballroom dance class for singles or couples
Join the incredible professionals from Oregon Dancesport , Mark , Haley , Drew , and Bannon , as they teach beginning ballroom dance from 4:30-5:30 p . m . every Thursday . This six-week introductory course will teach you the basics to dances like the salsa , cha cha , swing , waltz , tango and more ! With over 25 years ’ experience ,
the Oregon Dancesport professionals make these classes easy to follow and fun for everyone . You do not need a partner or previous dance experience . The professionals will dance with the class participants . For more information about Oregon Dancesport , check out its Facebook page . The introductory classes will be free for all Charbonneau residents . Classes begin Jan . 19 and will run for six weeks . New strength and stretch classes with Jules Moody
Strengthen and tone all muscle groups in this full-body , non-impact class . Jules will mix it up weekly using hand weights , bands and the bar along with balance and core work . Modifications and varying weights are available ( 2-10 lbs ) so the class is suitable for all fitness levels as you progress . Half the class is standing and half is down

Bingo : Play games , win prizes , have fun
After a two-year pandemic hiatus , Charbonneau bingo will return at 3 p . m . Tuesday , Jan . 17 in the CCC Dining room . For a $ 20 donation ( that will go to the Wilsonville Food Bank ) you can play eight games . Bring your beverage of choice in addition to an appetizer to share with your table of Charbonneau friends . I wish a huge shout out to the residents of Charbonneau for your generous donations of toys , clothing and gift cards for the children of needy families .
CCC property manager Rick Schram packed up over 200 items from under the Christmas tree and delivered them to the nonprofit Toy & Joy / Compassion in Action of Clackamas County . Volunteers from the nonprofit distributed the gifts to needy
