Hong Kong Network

It has been a busy couple of post-summer months for the Hong Kong Network with three events in October and a further two in November!

IWIRC Hong Kong’s first Cantonese language networking event – Oyster Master Class

On Thursday, October 13, the Hong Kong Network held its first Cantonese language event, kindly sponsored by Latham & Watkins, which comprised an Oyster Master Class with a shucking professional. The event was oversubscribed and received great interest from a new demographic of attendees for the Hong Kong Network – a huge success! 45 members and friends of IWIRC learned about the characteristic of oysters from Australia, France, Ireland, and Namibia, how to choose, store and prep oysters before serving, and also tried their hands at shucking oysters. It was a really fun and rewarding experience to taste the fruits of our labour as we master the tips and tricks of oyster shucking through the evening - devouring on freshly shucked oysters paired with different white wines, while networking. On October 5, 2016, members of the Georgia Network came together to celebrate Karen Fagin White’s retirement. Over fifty members, sponsors, and friends of IWIRC, including several bankruptcy judges, gathered at a popular local restaurant, Watershed on Peachtree, to congratulate Karen on her recent retirement from Cohen Pollock Merlin & Small P.C. and to thank her for her dedicated service to and continued support of IWIRC. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and southern delicacies on the restaurant’s outdoor patio during a beautiful fall evening.

The Georgia Network will host its annual holiday party on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Agave Restaurant. The event is open to members and sponsors and will feature lots of celebratory margaritas.
