BREGUET CONTINUES ‘RACE
FOR WATER’ AWARENESS
MONTRES BREGUET AND RACE FOR WATER, a foundation
to preserve water, marked the first year of collaboration
in late 2018 as representatives of both entities met in
Switzerland to discuss innovative solutions to divert plastic
waste before it enters the marine environment.
Breguet joined Race for Water in March as the main
sponsor of a five-year program, entitled “Odyssey 2017-
2021” with a mission for the oceans. Breguet committed
to support the Race for Water pioneering vessel sailing
the seas around the world and to contribute to raising
awareness among the decision-makers and general public,
as well as educating the young generations.
Throughout 2018, the Race for Water vessel, powered by
a mix of solar, hydrogen, and kite energies, travelled
globally to demonstrate that clean energy is a reality.
Since the beginning of the Odyssey, the vessel visited nine
countries, welcomed aboard more than 3,200 children and
met more than 8,500 official guests.
AUDEMARS PIGUET HELPS
PRESERVE MUSIC ARCHIVES
AUDEMARS PIGUET AND THE MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL
will become stronger partners starting in 2019. The partnership,
building on an existing relationship with the Montreux Jazz
Festival, will enable continuation of the Montreux Jazz Digital
Project, a joint venture with the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) which enables the digitalization,
restoration and preservation of the Festival’s entire sound
archives, acknowledged by UNESCO as part of its “Memory of
the World.” This collection contains more than 5,000 hours of
concert recordings. Quincy Jones has described this unique
collection as “the most important testimonial to the history of
music, covering jazz, blues and rock.” This partnership extends
to all the Festival’s entities, including the Montreux Jazz Café
restaurants, the Montreux Jazz Festival Japan and the Montreux
Jazz Artists Foundation.

ZENITH LAUNCHES WATCH TO
BENEFIT WOUNDED WARRIORS
ZENITH LAUNCHED A LIMITED-EDITION 43MM PILOT
Cronometro Tipo CP-2 USA Edition in partnership with the
Wounded Warrior Project. An automatic El Primero column-
wheel chronograph with flyback function powers the new
watch, made to recall a Zenith watch from the 1960s. The 43mm
case of the Pilot Cronometro Tipo CP-2 USA Edition features
a rotating bezel inspired by the U.S. flag, a theme picked up
on the oscillating weight with its Côtes de Genève motif. In
addition, the watch features a matte blue dial coordinated with
a matching aluminum ring inside the bezel. The triangle marker
and hand have both been changed to red, and the strap is a
special blue kudu-hide strap with white and red stitching. The
watch ($8,350) will be sold only in the United States in a
limited run of fifty units. Ahead of the launch, Zenith delivered
$25,000 to the charity (above).
