Gallery MOTORSPORT DEBUTS BY NANCY OLSON MONTBLANC CELEBRATES THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL WITH LIMITED EDITIONS As Official Timing Partner of the The Goodwood Festival of Speed for the second year, Montblanc this past summer lent its timekeeping expertise to the numerous races that took place during the event. To celebrate, Montblanc presented not one, but two new limited-edition models during the event and in a few selected boutiques: the Manufacture Chronograph and also an Automatic Date. The dials on both are beige with brown counters and brown flanges, hence their nickname—the “Cappuccinos.” The chronograph, powered by the impressive new Montblanc chronograph MB25.10, is limited to 1,500 pieces while the Automatic is an edition of 500. Each features a perforated vintage brown Sfumato aged calf leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence. Founded in 1993, The Goodwood Festival of Speed is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Held on the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, England, the festival regularly draws crowds in excess of 100,000 on each of the days it is held. “There are only a few motor racing celebrations as thrilling and exciting as Goodwood Festival of Speed,” says Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki. “With the participation of magnificent cars that range from the vintage to the most avant-garde, this event is the perfect partnership for Montblanc, a maison that celebrates its spirit of innovation and its long watchmaking heritage.” The festival culminated in a 1.16-mile timed Hillclimb Shootout, which determined the champion of the 2018 Festival of Speed and the winner of a Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph “Cappuccino” edition. Former Le Mans winner Romain Dumas claimed victory. The Limited Edition TimeWalker Chronograph is priced at $5,400 and is available at Montblanc. com and Montblanc boutiques. The Limited Edition Automatic Date is priced at $2,885.
