ORIS CLIPPERTON HELPS PROTECT OCEANS
THE NEW ORIS CLIPPERTON WAS DESIGNED as part of the company’s sponsorship
of the Clipperton Expedition initiated earlier this year. It is named for Clipperton Island,
which is considered the world’s most isolated landmass and one whose unique eco-
system is threatened by illegal commercial fishing and pollution. The atoll sits 1,100km
south of the tip of the Baja Peninsula, and its waters are a migration corridor and/or
home to various species of shark and other creatures. The expedition, which included
a group of scientists and conservationists, was led by underwater imagery special-
ist N2Pix. Its intent was to gather data and raise awareness to create lasting positive
change not only for the island, but for our planet’s oceans as a whole.
The 43.5mm stainless steel dive watch, powered by the Oris Cal. 733 based on
the Sellita SW 200-1, is water resistant to 300 meters and has a screwed crown and
caseback embossed with an outline of Clipperton Island and its coordinates. Its gra-
diant bl
