CITIZEN
ECO-DRIVE SATELLITE WAVE F990
Citizen at Baselworld expanded its offerings of satellite-synchronized
timepieces, a category the firm clearly leads. The newest models
improve performance and usability. New models feature the latest GPS
satellite-synchronized movement F990, which is an improved version of
current F900. The speed of the minute and hour hand is twice a fast as
the earlier model, and the case is now made of Citizen Super Titanium
case, a proprietary alloy, rather than ceramic. While it remains 48.5mm
in diameter, this newer edition is slightly thinner
The newest F990 is offered in two color options in a design similar to
the 2011 Satellite Wave originals, but now includes these technical
improvements:
---Corrects time and calendar by syncing with GPS satellites.
---Shows the time in two different world time zones simultaneously, and
switches between home time and local world time easily in one step.
---The 1/1 second chronograph measures 24 hours.
---The Light Level Indicator detects and displays the intensity of light
striking the dial in seven levels.
Citizen will make 1,500 pieces of each model. Each is priced at $3,500.
