THIS YEAR’S ADDITIONS to the Archive series includes this Chronograph C, with its bold red/white/blue dial
and thick coin-edge case details. It takes design inspiration from the 1970s, but now features Bulova’s own
high-performance quartz chronograph movement. A special-edition boxed presentation includes two
straps: stainless mesh and navy leather.

THE VINTAGE-INSPIRED FIFTY FATHOMS BATHYSCAPHE first presented in 2013 is extending its range by
offering a 38 mm watch attired in an abyss blue recalling the depths of the ocean. Water-resistant to
30 bar, meaning around 30 meters, it is equipped with a unidirectional bezel rotating counter-
clockwise in small notches, while the luminescent marker is an ideal point of reference for divers that
lines up with the minutes hand to define the start of a given dive time. The watch beats to the rhythm
of Calibre 1150, an authentic technical feat notably comprising two series-coupled barrels delivering a
100-hour autonomy. The movement is also equipped with a balance-spring in silicon, a light, shock-
resistant and innovative material that is impervious to magnetic fields. These properties serve to
improve the isochronism and thus the precision of the watch.

BREITLING HAS REDESIGNED ITS Superocean Héritage line to help celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2017.
Arriving in both 42-mm and 46-mm steel variations, the new watches feature a wide selection of color
combinations. Breitling had reinvigorated its design with a new steel bezel with an ultra-hard high-tech
ceramic ring that is scratchproof and extremely shock-resistant. The elimination of the metal ring
surrounding the minute circle means the bezel appears to form a seamless whole with the dial in a
matching color and the original Superocean logo. The unusual shape of the hands and the slightly cone-
shaped hour-markers reinforces ties with the 1957 model. Breitling has placed a COSC-certified selfwinding
movement (with a 70-hour power reserve) made from Tudor Caliber MT5612. This represents recent
cooperation between the two brands that are now pooling their expertise. Prices start at about $4,075.
