Raleigh , NC - Soror Merle Lloydine Perry became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . In 1964 , Soror Perry was initiated into the Alpha Chapter . She received both her bachelor ' s degree and master ' s degree in music education from Howard University . At an early age , she was recognized as a child prodigy in music . While in DC , she was a member of Xi Omega Chapter and Xi Zeta Omega Chapter . Soror Perry was a master musician who started her professional career as a music teacher in the DC Public School System . She later joined Alpha Theta Omega Chapter where her mother was a charter member . Soror Perry was a Golden Soror . For over 26 years , she was a pianist for Pilot Baptist Church in Raleigh . She leaves to cherish her memory dedicated friends , church brothers and sisters , relatives , and sorority sisters .
Petross : Retired Educator / Golden Soror
Lawrenceville , GA – Soror Lois Ann Petross became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 17 , 2020 . Soror Petross was initiated into the Beta Mu Chapter in 1950 , dedicating 70 years of service . She married in 1951 and took a break to raise her children . She returned to Wayne State University and earned her bachelor ' s degree in 1967 . Soror Petross was involved in her children ' s education and was a pillar in the community , dedicating her time and resources to various causes . She worked for 25 years in the Detroit Public Schools district and retired at the age of 80 after a successful tenure as a paraeducator . Her memory and legacy are cherished by her daughters , Sorors Gail Gregory , Jennifer Smith , Candice Petross and Melissa Reid ; son , Lance Petross ; family , sorors , students and friends .
Pinkney : Retired Educator / Golden Soror
Baltimore , MD – Soror Audrey Pinkney became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Pinkney was initiated into Epsilon Omega Chapter May 31 , 1957 . She was a seasoned educator in the Baltimore City Public School System . As a dedicated member of Epsilon Omega Chapter , Soror Pinkney served as the hodegos , and on the education , Black Family , and Founders ' Day committees and other committees . She enjoyed working with chapter members on service projects within the community and attending regional and national conferences with her sister , also an Ivy Beyond the Wall , Vera Flint . Soror Pinkney ' s devoted husband , Thomas Pinkney , preceded her in death .
Plummer : Cosmetologist / Fitness Enthusiast / Silver Star
Lansing , MI – Soror Betty Doris Plummer became an Ivy Beyond the Wall in January 2020 after a 23-year battle with dementia . Soror Plummer was initiated in Delta Tau Omega Chapter in 1991 . She enjoyed attending chapter activities and serving on the hospitality committee . Soror Plummer worked as a beautician at Velvatex College of Beauty prior to becoming the first African American cosmetology instructor at the Capital Area Career Center . She held this position for 23 years until she retired . Soror Plummer graduated from Ferris State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Trade Technical Education . She enjoyed cooking , travelling and exercising , especially speed walking . She leaves to honor her memory , two daughters , Dyanne Clark and Soror Shawn Watson Davis and a host of other family members , dear friends and caregivers .
Primes-Heard : Registered Nurse
Lansing , MI – Soror Cynthia Primes-Heard became an Ivy Beyond the Wall in August 2020 . Soror Primes- Heard was initiated in Delta Tau Omega Chapter in 1999 and pinned by her mother , Soror Evelyn Primes , who was a beloved member of the chapter . She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Michigan State University in 1985 . She was employed by the State of Michigan for over 32 years . Soror Primes-Heard devoted her life to her church , nursing profession and family . She was a dedicated member of Christ Temple Church in Lansing where she served as the choir director , Sunday School teacher , evangelist , and church health care professional . She was a life member of the Michigan State University Alumni Association and a member of the Lansing Urban League . She was also a member of the Northern District 5th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World , Inc . serving as secretary for the state ministers ' wives and ministers ' widows auxiliary . Finally , she was a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority , Inc .
Providence : Social Worker
Portsmouth , VA — Soror Irene Paulette Providence became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on July 14 , 2020 . Soror Providence was initiated in the spring of 1963 into Delta Epsilon Chapter at Norfolk State University . She earned a BS degree in sociology and a MA degree in social work from Catholic University in Washington , DC . She made distinguished contributions within her career , as a devoted social worker in the Maryview Hospital Healthcare System , the Chesapeake Public School System , the Edward Wilson Center , retiring after 20 years of service . She dedicated her time to helping , teaching , and training others . Soror Providence faithfully served as a member of Gamma Delta Omega Chapter ' s Ensemble . Her memory will be cherished by her family , friends and sorors .
Reynolds-Rigby : Retired Educator
Philadelphia , PA — Soror Harriet Reynolds-Rigby became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on November 24 , 2020 . She earned her BS degree in education from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and earned her master ' s degree in education from St . Joseph ' s University . She retired from the school district of Philadelphia in 1997 as an elementary school teacher for 30 years of dedicated service . Soror Reynolds-Rigby was initiated into the Omega Omega Chapter in 2014 . As an active member , she co-chaired seasonal wraps committee , and was a member in various committees to mentor young women as well . She was also an active member and served as treasurer of the Philadelphia Chapter of Charms , Inc . In addition , Reynolds-Rigby was an involved member with Cheyney University Alumni Association . She leaves to cherish her memory , daughter Soror Fay Dunbar ; son-in-law Will Dunbar , three grandsons , relatives , friends , and members of Omega Omega Chapter .
