Germany : Gas Company Manager / Golden Soror / Life Member
Los Angeles , CA – Golden Soror Eula Mae Germany became an Ivy Beyond the Wall January 23 , 2020 . She was initiated into Beta Psi Chapter at Southern University A & M College and earned a bachelor ' s degree in business administration . After relocating with her husband and son to Los Angeles , she joined Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter . She began a career with the Southern California Gas Company and promoted to management . She was a Life Member and Golden Soror , serving on several committees and outreach programs such as the annual health fair , reading projects in local schools , and the United Negro College Fund . She leaves to cherish her memory her two brothers ; son Stanley ; a host of nieces , nephews , other relatives and sorors
Gonzales : Retired Administrator / Golden Soror / Life Member
Baltimore , MD – Soror Ellen D . Gonzales became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Gonzales was initiated into the Alpha Delta Chapter of Morgan State College ( University ) in December 1960 . She was an administrator in the Baltimore City Public School System , which drew her into the education and community initiatives . Soror Gonzales served on membership , and the community action / heath committees . She also served on the committee for the acquisition of the Ivy Center . She coordinated the chapter ' s participation in August 1983 with the Baltimore Coalition in commemoration of the 1963 March on Washington . Under her leadership many sorors wrote letters to U . S . representatives urging the passage of the bill and a special message to the president to issue a proclamation designating September as National Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness Month . Her husband , Pablo , preceded her in death just three months before her .
Gholston : Educator / Charter Member / Diamond Soror
Longview , TX – Soror Alice Allen Gholston became an Ivy Beyond the wall on October 29 , 2020 . Soror Gholston was initiated into the Alpha Nu Chapter at Tillotson on November 18 , 1943 . On April 3 , 1949 Soror Gholston and eight other sorors chartered the Epsilon Zeta Omega Chapter in Longview , TX . Soror Gholston was a Diamond Soror with 77 years of consecutive service , and the last living charter member of Epsilon Zeta Omega Chapter . Soror Gholston earned a BA degree from Tillotson College and a master ’ s degree from Prairie View A & M University . She was a long-time educator , teaching English and Spanish . Soror Gholston served Epsilon Zeta Omega Chapter as Ivy Leaf ® reporter , hodegos and as part of several committees . She leaves to cherish her memory a niece , Soror Leslie Wilcox and her husband Bobby Wilcox , special nephew , William ( Butch ) Smith and his wife , Lanita .
Gilmore : College Assistant / Golden Soror / Life Member
Philadelphia , PA – Soror Helen H . Gilmore became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on October 10 , 2020 . She earned her BA degree from University of Pennsylvania where she was initiated into Gamma Epsilon in 1958 . Soror Gilmore served many years in the U . S . Army stationed in various states and Korea . While stationed in San Francisco , she earned a master ' s degree from the University of San Francisco . Her teaching career began in the school district of Philadelphia . Later she procured a position with Veterans Upward Bound Program at Community College of Philadelphia , which led to her appointment as an assistant to the vice president for academic affairs . Soror Gilmore was active in Omega Omega Chapter and served on the bylaws committee and the 90th anniversary committee . Her other organization affiliations : board member of the Philadelphia YWCA , Eastern Star , Philadelphia Chapter of the Diabetes Association , and Singing City Choir . She was a devoted member at St . Michael ' s Episcopal Church in Yeadon , PA . Her beloved sister Soror Margaret Strickland , a host of family members , friends and sorors will cherish her memory .
Gray : Retired Educator / Golden Soror / Life Member
Chicago , IL – Golden Soror Willie Lee Gray became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Gray was initiated into Alpha Rho Chapter at the University of Arkansas , Pine Bluff in 1957 and was a member of Theta Omega Chapter . She graduated from UAPB in 1959 and later received a MS in Urban Education from Chicago State University . She had a long and successful career as an educator beginning in Turrell , Arkansas and culminating after 42 years when she retired from the Chicago Public School System in 2001 . She was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she served on the fine arts and literary guild , the women ' s chorus , and the African ministry with whom she travelled to Ghana , West Africa . An avid bridge player , she remained active throughout retirement splitting her time between Chicago , IL and Ft . Lauderdale , FL . Soror Gray was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Gray ; four sisters and three brothers . Those left to cherish her memory include , her family of sorors , grandchildren and close friends .
Gregory : Silver Star
Tallahassee , FL – Soror Beulah B . Gregory became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on October 22 , 2020 . She graduated from Florida A and M University with a degree in recreational and physical education . Soror Gregory became the first assistant director for the Dade Street Recreation Center which was later named the Lawrence - Gregory Center . She later became the equal opportunity technician for the city of Tallahassee . After retirement , Soror Gregory was involved in community and organizations , such as NAUW , and the NAACP . She was also inducted into the FAMU Athletics Hall of Fame and was a lifelong member of Flipper Chapel AME Church . She became a member of Delta Kappa Omega Chapter in Tallahassee , FL . Cherishing her memory are daughter , Gwen Peters ; granddaughter , Jori Peters ; son / nephew , Johnny James ; sister , Coline James , other family members , friends and sorors .
