Mu Omega Omega Holds Virtual Pink on the Greens
Aurora , CO – Mu Omega Omega Chapter ’ s Pink on the Greens has been an in-person golf clinic for 10 years . Due to the pandemic , Pink on the Greens event shifted to a speaking engagement followed by an online M • A • C Cosmetic virtual party and auction . This year ' s virtual event was led by Soror Denise Caleb and the Ivy Community Fund . Our speaker , Angella Reid , shared her journey and experience in hospitality management as she became the first woman and ninth person to manage the day-to-day operations of the White House as director of the executive residence and chief usher . The event had about 40 attendees and raised $ 4,011.43 towards scholarships and grants .
Mu Omega Continues to Serve Throughout the Pandemic
Kansas City , KS – Mu Omega Chapter continues to support our community and nurture our membership . We continue to offer # CAP SM , tutoring , mentoring and talking with 20 young ladies who attend Sumner Academy of Arts and Science . We supported 10 families , " Toys for Dottes ", ( Wyandotte County , KS ) providing over $ 1,700 in Christmas gift cards , food and toys . We read books written by authors of color . We completed several sisterly relations activities ; including a cookie bake-off with sorors meeting on Zoom to bake cookies . The recipe was provided , and together we baked cookies in our individual homes . We ended the evening with the best cookie and best ugly t-shirt contests . We continued to gather slightly used clothing , eyeglasses and shoes , as well as making pillowcase dresses . We patronized Black owned businesses spending over $ 16,000 in receipts . Our connection activities were done through a telephone tree ; reminding sorors to wear our colors and take pictures as we voted ; and to encourage every chapter member to call their family , friends , neighbors , church members and ask them to vote . Over 2,600 contacts were made . We also adopted the REAL Lincoln University , Jefferson City , MO as our HBCU .

Alpha Nu Omega Hosts Alzheimer ' s Awareness
Oakland , CA – Alpha Nu Omega Chapter raised $ 2,000 for Alzheimer ' s Disease Research during the The Longest Day event . Partnered with the Northern California / Nevada chapter of the Alzheimer ' s Association , this event was held virtually . The day began at 11am with " Let ' s Get Moving " where Michael Tatmon led a series of exercises for older adults . At 1pm there were brain teaser activities in partnership with the older adult ministry of Downs Memorial United Methodist Church . The day ended at 3pm with " Let ' s Get Cooking " led by Shanette Merrick . Merrick showed how to prepare a heart healthy meal of salmon and spinach salad . Let ' s Get Moving and Let ' s Get Cooking are a part of the U . C . Davis East Bay Alzheimer ' s Disease Center led by David K Johnson , Ph . D . Dr . Johnson was available for a question-and-answer session at the end of each segment . By participating in the Longest Day , we honor the members of Alpha Nu Omega , and all sorors who are living with Alzheimer ' s and the memories of those who have passed away from the disease . In addition to hosting the program , plants we delivered to both sorors who are living with Alzheimer ' s and to sorors serving as caregivers for those with Alzheimer ' s .

Alpha Gamma Omega Hosts Virtual Caregivers ’ Day Observance
Los Angeles , CA – Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter hosted " Resilience : It ' s What We ' re Made Of '. The Health Committee selected twenty caregivers to receive caregiver survival kits via the mail . The kits contained the following - 1 ) The " Resilience : It ' s What We ' re Made Of " program , 2 ) certificate of appreciation , 3 ) Zoom instructions and 4 ) signed copies by the authors of " Tears In My Gumbo " & " Prayers In My Gumbo ."
