Once the president and vice-president elect were sworn in , we hosted a final hour of music with DJ Jon Quick , member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity , Inc ., and DJ for radio station WBLS 107.5 . The event was live streamed via CNN . This event was hosted by Delta Rho Omega ' s membership committee .
Psi Lambda Omega Partners for Children in Temporary Housing
Brooklyn , NY – During this global pandemic , the needs of our community and the necessity of our service , has called for the re-invention of how we help . In collaboration with the Anasa Laa Gives and Destiny Helpers Outreach , Inc ., 5 to 12-year-old children , in a temporary housing residence , in Flatbush , Brooklyn , received books , art materials and school supplies . All items were safely delivered via Amazon and distributed by Anasa Laa Gives . The items arrived just in time to start the second half of the school year , when pencils and paper have been depleted or left behind after sudden uprooting . Psi Lambda Omega provided personal journals and drawing tablets , which will give opportunity for healthy socialemotional expression in this time of significant impact on young lives . According to Target 5 Chairman , Soror Santia Pelliccia , people have come to Brooklyn for opportunity from all over but have been displaced and plans disrupted , when the pandemic hit . Psi Lambda Omega is grateful to support the 91 children currently at the Albemarle Family Residence .

New York , NY – A groundbreaking panel entitled " Building Black Women Leaders : The Story of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc .," took place at the 65th convening of the Non- Government Organization , Commission on the Status of Women to the United Nations ( NGO-CSW ). The esteemed panelists were North Atlantic Regional Director , Mary Bentley LaMar , the 25th Far Western Regional Director , Carol Dixon , the International Regional Director , Joy Elaine Daley , the Basileus of Tau Omega Chapter , Michelle Hardy and was moderated by Tau Omega Target 5 Co-Chair and Antiracism Lead for
Panelist and host for AKA at the UN .
NGO-CSW at the UN , Tricia Callender , Ph . D . Almost 400 participants and activists from over 100 countries joined the virtual conference via Zoom and YouTube to learn about the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha and its global advocacy . The panel was introduced by Congressman Gregory Meeks , Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity , Inc . The panel was one of the most successful over the two-week UN conference period .

Iota Alpha Omega Achieves Financial Fitness
Poughkeepie , NY – Iota Alpha Omega Chapter conducted two virtual workshops that focused on Target 3 : Building Your Economic Legacy . The " Raise the Score : Credit Awareness Event ", was held in collaboration with United Credit Education Services . The chapter partnered with the Combined Insurance Company of America to conduct the " Insurance Matters : Be Better Prepared for the Unexpected " workshop . Target 3 Chair , Soror Clarissa Goins worked diligently with her committee to ensure that each program was aligned with the sorority ' s focus on improving credit , financial planning , and managing debt . The " Raise the Score " workshop led by Carnell Newsome focused on credit awareness and knowing your score . Newsome provided tips on how to raise your credit score by applying basic principles that can assist anyone with getting on the road to achieving greater financial success . During the " Insurance Matters : Be Better Prepared for the Unexpected " workshop , presenter Torrino R . Harvey gave program participants financial advice on how to prepare for the future . Harvey emphasized the following key concepts : filling financial gaps in major medical coverage , cash benefits after an injury that requires medical care , disability benefits , and emergency planning . Iota Alpha Omega will partner with the AARP Fraud Watch Network to present the " Operation Stop Scams : Fight Back Against Fraud !”
Epsilon Pi Omega Hosts Pink Goes Red Impact Day
St . Albans , NY – The Epsilon Pi Omega Chapter under the direction of Basileus Stephanie Cooper-Smiley and First Anti-Basileus Kim Adams , reimagined Pink Goes Red Impact Day event to meet the diverse needs of chapter members and our beloved southeast Queens community . We partnered with the St . Albans Congregational Church , Women ' s and Agape Counseling Ministries , and Layla ' s Dance and Drum to create an event that rejuvenated our minds , hearts , and spirits , especially as we dealt with the ongoing impact of health and racial justice crises . Our 100 registrants were treated to an impactful event that featured Zumba , Gentle Yoga , a special dance lesson for youth , and a meditation session . We shared helpful information with attendees on heart health , resources for good nutrition , and well-being . The chapter raised funds for the American Heart Association to continue the fight against heart disease .

West Hempstead , NY – The Theta Iota Omega Chapter Connections Committee hosted a virtual Women ' s HERStory month event titled – “ Trailblazers : Women Who Are Leading the Way .” The purpose of this program was to highlight African American women who are trailblazers in their respective careers and industries . More than 70 attendees tuned in to hear an inspirational and encouraging presentation and discussion with special guest panelists civil rights pioneer and president of the NAACP New York Conference , Dr . Hazel N . Dukes ; Superintendent of Roosevelt , NY School District , Soror Deborah Wortham ; Pilot and Aircraft Owner / Operator Ms . Tanya Austin and pilot and Certified Flight Instructor Ms . Katherine B . Guerrero . The 90-minute event also held space for discussions and Q & A around the topics of social injustice , schools and the pandemic ,
