In the videos , the HBCU students highlighted their admiration for mentorship and professional development opportunities , the rich Black cultural experience , historical relevance , and their desire to continue their school ' s legacy of developing Black students into world leaders . These experiences were transformed into videos and posted on Mu Beta ' s social media platforms for Skee-Week . This event placed emphasis on the historical and educational relevance of HBCU ' s while highlighting real life student experiences , a perspective that erased preconceived biases and created an informed space for students attending predominately white institutions ( PWIs ).
Pi Nu Holds Poetry Slam
Chicago , IL – Pi Nu Chapter collaborated with the Black Caucus Club at Northeastern Illinois University for a virtual Poetry Slam during their spring 2021 Skee-Week . This event was themed " Art Breaker ." This Poetry Slam consisted of performances from Soror Asia Bryant-Wilkerson who was initiated in the Eta Sigma Chapter , K-Love the Poet , and Harold Green . This event showcased these artists ' talents as they shared pieces that highlighted sisterhood , love , blackness , and applications of self-worth . The program also consisted of African-American trivia and an exciting raffle . With a focus on Target 4 : The Arts , Pi Nu Chapter exposed students and others of the community to the beauty of arts enrichment and culture .

Tau Xi Hosts AKAdemy Enrichment Program
Collingdale , PA – Tau Xi Chapter at Villanova University hosted a virtual AKAdemy Enrichment Program for Philadelphia high school girls in the fall of 2020 . Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic and completely virtual environment , the chapter maintained their standard of excellence . In prior years their annual # CAP SM Program was an in-person " Sitting PreTEA " event and this virtual AKAdemy Program was similar . The three-session program included panels on " The College Application and Selection Process ," " Paying for College and Navigating College Life ," and concluded with a celebration ceremony honoring all of the participants for completing the program . The participants also received digital " certificates of completion " and Amazon Gift Cards . Soror Jenn Thompkins from Tau Xi ' s sponsoring graduate chapter , Phi Beta Omega , volunteered her time as a speaker for their first session and played a " Truth or Myth " game with the participants regarding information about the college application process . Soror Jennifer McCrary from the Sigma Omega Omega Chapter presented on financial aid and scholarship resources at the second session . Additionally , each participant was assigned a mentor from the Tau Xi Chapter based on their career and personal interests .
