Baccalaureate Committee Chairman Soror Tonya Trim and Co-Chairman Soror Malaika Young , committee , and the members of Eta Rho Omega under the leadership of Basileus Soror Claudette Lindsay were overjoyed with the results of their first virtual African American Baccalaureate .

Eta Rho Omega Holds 2021 African American Baccalaureate
San Jose , CA – Class of 2021 high school graduates were celebrated at the thirty-third annual , first virtual , African American Baccalaureate hosted by Eta Rho Omega Chapter , and Ivy Rose Community Foundation , Inc . The
Eta Rho Omega and the Ivy Rose Community Foundation celebrated the Class of 2021 for the first virtual African American Baccalaureate .
graduates were feted by Far Western Regional Director , Shelby D . Boagni , the San Jose mayor and vice mayor , and from Vice President Soror Kamala Harris and NBA Star Stephen Curry . Students from twenty-two high schools in Santa Clara County were highlighted at the virtual event . Talents were displayed in original poetry , speeches , and musical selections shared by the graduates . Eta Rho Omega , celebrating sixty years of service in the Greater Silicon Valley and the Ivy Rose Community Foundation , Inc . along with five community organizations joined together to honor the graduating seniors . Students were presented with scholarships and book awards totaling $ 24,000 . Walter Wilson received the Service to Youth Award for outstanding contributions to youth in Santa Clara County .

Sigma Lambda Omega Focuses on Target Programs
Van Nuys , CA – Sigma Lambda Omega Chapter collaborates to deliver supreme service to the San Fernando , Santa Clarita , and Simi Valleys . Making the best out of a great opportunity , Target 4 : The Arts partnered with Target 1 : HBCU for Life : A Call to Action /# CAP SM for a virtual presentation which highlighted the importance of HBCUs and the college admission process (# CAP SM ) and provided information on Sigma Lambda Omega ' s scholarships . The virtual presentation also highlighted education in the arts . In addition , partnering with the Girl Scouts of San Fernando Valley Zawadi Troop # 3246 , these wonderful students of The Arts completed Unit 2 : Virtual Arts and the Movements which ended with a virtual performance . The performance was created and produced by the students under the tutelage of the Target 4 : The Arts committee members just in time for Juneteenth . The presentation included a creative dance piece and poetry inspired by the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement . The final presentation was uploaded on the Sigma Lambda Omega YouTube channel for public viewing .

Omega Theta Omega Hosts Mental Health Chat
Abu Dhabi , UAE – Omega Theta Omega Chapter hosted a Mental Health Chat focusing on Maintaining Your Mental Health . The Target 2 committee prepared an event to help attendees learn how to manage their mental health during the pandemic . The program featured five therapists who led breakout rooms focused on different topics . With 30 participants present , Soror Kamalisha Green led the attendees in a short positive mindset activity . This helped put everyone in the mindset required to complete the remainder of the chat . Next , Dr . Anissa Moody , Dr . Niah White , Dr . Jenan McNealey , and Britney Smith led sessions in breakout rooms focused on the following topics : Black women sustaining mental health , effects of social justice events , stigmas of mental health , and after-effects of the pandemic . Each session lasted 20 minutes , and attendees could speak transparently about the traumas they were facing . The chapter looks forward to offering this program again .
