Chapters Partner for Global Impact World Refugee Day
Boston , MA – Epsilon , Iota Gamma , Lambda Upsilon , and Psi Omega Chapters co-sponsored Global Impact World Refugee Day . This virtual event focused on understanding the struggles of those who flee their homes seeking asylum and safety in other places . The goal was to educate and shed light upon the journey people make on a global scale to live a better life from various lenses , assisting refugees of African descent in integrating into life in the United States and increasing awareness of refugee issues and concerns . With empathy in mind , the program helped the participants think about the experiences of refugees . Martha Thompson and Ali Aljundi explained the refugee ' s and asylum seeker ' s experiences , providing the event with spirited conversations in the breakout rooms . the spring 2021 semester , Basileus Sydni Johnson was crowned Miss Legend at the Misses and Mister Cheyney University Pageant . Her platform was POISE , which stood for Perpetuity , Opulence , Inclusion , Setting the Standard , Exemplifying Excellence . Also , the Grammateus Starr Latimer , a spring 2021 initiate , was elected as the vice president of the Student Government Association . Both sorors will serve and put their leadership skills to work during the upcoming academic school year .
Theta Beta Renames Campus Buildings
Stillwater , OK – Oklahoma State University ( OSU ) held a program for renaming the Human Sciences and Human Sciences West buildings to Nancy Randolph Davis and Nancy Randolph Davis West . The renaming of these buildings honors Ivy Beyond the Wall Nancy Randolph Davis , who was the first African American student to attend the institution . This event featured her daughter , Nancy Lynn Davis , Esq ., of Beta Sigma Omega Chapter , and the former basilei of the Stillwater , Oklahoma chapters , Soror Lynne Simpson , Upsilon Theta Omega
