She received her training from the renowned Institute of Culinary Education in New York , specializing in yacht , after parties , and mansion parties . She especially enjoys culinary demonstrations for the youth , providing meals for community organizations , and traveling on assignment to cook . Soror May-Bynes is the former second anti-basileus and sisterly relations chairman and continues to lead the chapter ' s AKA Assist program , a Target 3 initiative .
McCollum Honored as Trailblazer
Tau Lambda Omega Soror Alice McCollum , Dayton ' s trailblazer for African American women to serve on the bench , serving the people of Montgomery County . She was the first African American and woman to be appointed to the Dayton Municipal Court at 31 . She continued to operate until she was elected , again , as the first African American and woman to the bench of Montgomery County Probate Court . Recently retired , Soror McCollum says she most enjoyed working to approve adoptions , done every Friday . " It was a great way to end the week on a high note ," she says . She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro and attended law school at the University of Cincinnati . A former Tau Lambda Omega basileus , she currently serves as the chapter parliamentarian . She also actively serves on the governing board of her church .
McGregor Selected as 40 over 40
Soror Kimberly McGregor of Omega Iota Omega Chapter in Charlotte , North Carolina , was one of 40 recipients to receive the Charlotte Ledger ' s 40 over 40 Award for significant contributions made within the Charlotte community . Soror McGregor is the CEO and founder of SYDKIMYL Educational Consulting , which provides social-emotional learning support for students in underserved areas . Working with school-aged children ( K-12 ) for almost 20 years as a school counselor in Title I schools , she saw the glaring gaps created by extremely high student-to-counselor ratios . SYDKIMYL works to close that gap . During the pandemic , she launched transformative virtual-based social-emotional learning services and virtual academic tutoring for students who needed it most through a partnership with Historically Black Colleges and Universities ( HBCUs ) to hire college students to work as academic tutors / mentors .
Meekins-Davis Awarded
Widener University honors Soror Michele Meekins-Davis with Eckard Award for Distinguished Service . This annual award , presented by President Julie Wollman , recognizes employees for their commitment and outstanding service to the Widener community . Eckard , former long-time vice president of administration and finance at Widener University and a 1966 graduate of Pennsylvania Military College , established the award in memory of his father , William David Eckard Jr . The $ 3,000 cash award helps promote and reward excellence at Widener . Recipients must work for Widener on a fulltime basis for at least ten years and consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of service . Soror Michele Meekins-Davis , " Micki ," is a Wilmington , DE resident and a long-time , well-respected member of the Widener and broader regional communities . She has served as a leader for multicultural , cultural competence , social justice , equity , and diversity-related programs and workshops for students , faculty , and staff .
Mitchell Celebrates 100 th Birthday
Dallas , TX – Alpha Xi Omega Chapter Golden Soror Kathryn Mitchell celebrated her centennial birthday on July 1 , 2021 . Golden Soror Mitchell was initiated into Alpha Xi Omega Chapter on April 16 , 1964 , and has served with dedication and graciousness for over 50 years . She is a retired educator , community leader , and lifelong civil rights , advocate . United States Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson ( TX-30 ) and fellow chapter members celebrated with Soror Mitchell and presented her with a proclamation recognizing her as a centenarian and community leader . Golden Soror Mitchell is still active in Alpha Xi Omega and other organizations .
Moore Recognized
Soror Tyler Alexys Moore is the founder & CEO of Tippa Productions , LLC , an Atlanta , GA-based production company . She is also the founder of Tippa Teaches , Inc ., a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization focused on youth literacy in at-risk communities . Soror Moore is the writer and & producer of the feature film " Normal ," which was recognized as the 2020 official selection by the American Black Film Festival , 2020 official selection by the Peachtree Village International Film Festival , and 2020 official selection by the Chi-Town Multicultural Film Festival . In addition , she is the 2021 inductee into the inaugural class of South Carolina State University ( SCSU ) " Forty under 40 ." Soror Moore was initiated in Beta Sigma in 2014 .

Soror Jessica LaVerne Parker-Battle is a 2008 U . T . law graduate , licensed in Texas the same year and later in Massachusetts , having received her B . A . from Stanford University with honors in 2005 . She currently works as the Head of U . S . Compliance at Biogen , Inc ., an American multinational biotechnology company based in Cambridge , Massachusetts , specializing in the discovery , development , and delivery of therapies to treat neurological diseases to patients worldwide . She focuses her practice on health care law , corporate compliance , government investigations , and other complex civil litigation matters . Soror Parker-Battle was recently selected for the Biogen " 2021 CEO Award " for " her actions that allowed Biogen to deliver through strong operating performance and global leadership across our core businesses , and showing exceptional leadership , resilience , and dedication to drive Biogen forward ." She formerly practiced law in the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig , where she focused on health care law , corporate compliance , government and internal investigations , and products liability . Before Greenberg Traurig , she was an assistant attorney general for the State of Texas in the civil Medicaid fraud division .

Soror Rhonda Paul was recently appointed as program analyst and training specialist with the Child Welfare Reviews Project for federal government agency JBS International , Inc . She is responsible for instructional design , providing professional development training to federal and state government officials , and auditing to ensure all 52 state agencies comply with federal laws and regulations .
