Vanetta Cox Bonner is a nurse leader who believes that African Americans , especially those in underserved communities , should have equitable access to healthcare with positive outcomes . With over 20 years in both healthcare operations and clinical operations , Vanetta has experience in leading healthcare organization ’ s clinical performance and chronic care management , to name a few . Through effective communication , collaboration and coordination , Vanetta has successfully helped these organizations break down barriers to access to care while improving health outcomes among the African-American community . Additionally , Vanetta has been a featured speaker on patient-centered care . Vanetta earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Th e University of South Carolina-Aiken , Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Affairs from Columbia College , MBA from Pfeiff er University , MSN in Nursing Leadership and Administration from Walden University and is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a project-focused on implicit bias in healthcare .

Sonya L . Bowen is the 30th Central Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc .® She earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems ( 1990 ) and a Master of Science Degree in Management with a Finance and Accounting focus ( 1994 ) from Purdue University . Initiated into Epsilon Rho Chapter in 1987 at Purdue , she is a Life Member and Silver Soror with 34 years of uninterrupted service . She is currently a member of Lambda Tau Omega Chapter in Matteson , Illinois where she has served as President , Vice President , Treasurer , Financial Secretary , and Parliamentarian . Sonya is an active member of Twenty Pearls Foundation , Inc ., the Bronzeville Children Museum ’ s Women ’ s Board , Purdue Alumni Association and Black Alumni Association , and Faith Movers Church . Currently employed at Northwestern University as an Associate Department Administrator , she is a lifelong Chicagoan and currently resides in Richton Park . As a Christian and an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman on the go , her motto is “ Treat others as you would want them to treat you ,” and she lives by Philippians 4:13 , “ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me .”

an impact , she is also the Chair of the Maryland State Advisory Committee of the U . S . Civil Rights Commission . Previously , she was the Chief of Staff for Representative G . K . Butterfield in the United States Congress and Policy Director for the Congressional Black Caucus . Kendra completed her undergraduate studies at Hampton University , her Master of Divinity at Howard University Divinity School , and received her Law Degree from Vermont Law School . Additionally , she attended the George Washington University School of Law for her Master of Laws . She serves as President of the Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc .® in Baltimore County , MD , Visiting Dean of the Anna Easter Brown Leadership Institute of the North Atlantic Region , and also as a member of the Reinstatement Task Force .

Regina Dixon-Reeves , Ph . D . is a champion for diversity and inclusion and an accomplished scholar , author , and lecturer . She currently serves as the inaugural Vice Provost for Diversity , Equity and Inclusion at the University of San Diego . Soror Regina is passionate about mentoring and professional development . Her research interests include the mentoring experiences of graduate students and junior faculty of color ; professional development programs for first generation academics to increase their productivity ; and qualitative descriptions of the academic experiences of female academics of color . Within the sorority these interests are mirrored in her years of service on the Scholarship Committee , Chapter Retreat Committee , Undergraduate Relations Committee and the Mentoring Matters Subcommittee , among others . Soror Regina was initiated Fall of 1979 into Mu Beta Chapter at Marquette University . She is currently a member of Xi Nu Omega and is both a Silver Star and Life Member .
Cindy J . Dorsett , M . D .

Dr . Cindy Dorsett is the Medical Director of Poinciana Medical Centre located in New Providence , Bahamas . She leads the medical team of a fast-growing medical practice that offers urgent care , general practice as well as specialty clinics . She serves as Medical Director for a leading insurance company where she welcomes the challenge to discuss medicine and practice healthcare delivery from a slightly different perspective . Most recently she has been appointed to the National Health Insurance Authority Board where she will serve on a national level to forge the way forward in healthcare . Dr . Dorsett has represented the Bahamas on national sports teams in track and fi eld and soccer as the team physician . She is civic-minded and volunteers in community initiatives . She holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Liverpool , a M . D . from the University of the West Indies , and a B . S . in Biology from Bethune Cookman College .
