Taking a Leadership Role requires
vigor and fortitude, that’s what Pastor
Rod Houston has. After being appointed Pastor of Mount Olive COGIC by the
late Bishop J.C. Gilkey; now Mount Olive Tabernacle of Praise, many wondered how he would take one of the
oldest Churches, in Kansas Southwest
Jurisdiction to new level of growth and
development both naturally and spiritually.
Well after just a few years, Pastor Rod
Houston and his lovely wife Patricia
and his three sons Adrian, Prince, and
Rod III have infused new life into a
once small congregation now a refreshing and thriving, church that is
full innovation, vision, and insight.
This new vitality allows them to continue, to develop this ever thriving vision of new ideas and events. Through
the midst of it all you will always find

Pastor Houston has taken his spiritual
experience with God, and with divine
direction is touching the political world
in the Kansas State House as a State
Representative. While others may disagree, we can say the man with the Baritone Voice, is a finite leader who understands who he is and continues to
push into new areas of vision and purpose. Although if you would have told
him and few years back that he would
be a Pastor and State Representative,
he probably would have chuckled and
said “Nah not me.” It is amazing to see
what is possible with God. Just when
you think someone can’t do it, it is proven that “I can do all Things through
Christ with Strengthens Me” so, we are
honored, to finally have the chance to
write about a prehensile leader who has
taken ahold of the divine assignment
that God has given him and those who
serve with him that is both impactful
and dimensional.
