Dear members

I am hijacking the, “From The Chair’s” column this month.

Is it just me or does time seem to speed up towards the end of the year? Many of us in the Service Management community are rapidly winding up projects before the silly season arrives and many of us take a couple of weeks off to relax and unwind. I know I am looking forward to the end of year celebrations and hope I have not been too naughty during the year (Santa I was nice this year, I promise!).

Very soon we will all be gathering in Adelaide to meet, learn, celebrate and network (yes, in person). The great state of South Australia will be hosting our 24th National Service Management conference. I am looking forward to this momentous occasion to participate in celebrating everything service management and more. If you have not booked your ticket/s yet (?) I do implore you to jump on the conference website and book a seat or two.

As part of this great conference we are looking for service management champions and leaders. It is my honour this year to organise the Service Management awards and I am looking for YOU. Let your mind wander, picture your team, or your service provider or your name up in lights at this year’s Gala Dinner. We have both team and individual awards and you could be one of those this year! However, you need to tell us all about it.

Our team awards this year are the Service Management Innovation of the Year in 3 categories; Business Impact, Complementary

Practices and Business Services. If you have a project in one of these 3 categories let us know. Head on over to the conference website

CLICK HERE and select which award you would like to nominate for, provide us with a few details and then hit send.

This year we have also included a new category for the Service Management Provider of the year. We are blessed to have many members that belong to Service Providers that have helped lots of organisations address their Service Management needs and desires. Well I want to know about it. Who will be crowned the Service Provider of the year award? Hint, come along to the Gala dinner and find out. But you need to nominate first.

Or, if you are not part of a larger project team, we are looking for some individuals to be nominated for the Service Management Champion of the year, Service Management Lifetime Contributor and the Service Management Contributor of the year. I am hearing some groaning that you are not worthy, balderdash; of course you are. If you work in Service Management these days you are some of the most resilient, hardworking and knowledgeable people around. Who says you are not worthy! Of course you are. We need a few good people, that you tell us about, so now is the time to head on over to the website and nominate your colleagues, friends and associates.

So please, jump on over to the conference website and nominate your teams, friends and associates. We want YOU.
