THE CHAIR

Dear members

First of all I would like to express how extremely proud and honoured I am to have been elected as Chairperson for itSMF Australia.

When I attended my first itSMF Australia Conference back in 2011, I was immediately taken by the sense of community and the willingness to share knowledge from industry thought leaders who previously I had only known through social media or through reading their publications, I did not for one minute think that 10 years later I would be elected to Chair the Forum!

I am pleased to be backed by a fantastic executive leadership team with Harry (Deputy Chair), Troy (Treasurer), Wilma (Secretary) and Sheryl (Executive Officer) and also extremely grateful to have the full support of outgoing Chair Brad Busch.  Brad has been Chair of the Forum for the past 6 years and is someone who I have learned a great deal from, especially over the past 3 years of being his Deputy Chair – thanks Brad! (I’m sure I will be picking your brains further over the coming months…)

Elections were completed and the AGM held on 18th May.  Congratulations to returning Directors Troy Latter, Harry Powell, Janet Holling and congratulations and welcome to our newest Board member Peter Tonkin who is already demonstrating value by leading the Member Vaue Program.

I would also like to thank outgoing Director Rose Dyson for her contribution and service to the Board over the past 4 years.State Branch elections have also been ongoing and congratulations to Gavin Hedrick (SA), Brad Schimmel (Vic/Tas), David Low (WA),

Rachel Seaniger (QLD) & Karina Bourne (NT) for being re-elected to State Branch Chairs and also welcome to Ian Smith who has taken over from Andrew Ritchie as State Branch Chair, thanks Andrew for your service to ACT and welcome Ian, I look forward to getting to know you better and working closely together to deliver value to our ACT membership.

This year we have will continued to focus on getting our value proposition right for our existing members as well as making renewed effort to recruit new ones. itSMF Australia can only exist if it has a strong, vibrant and active membership base so for 2021 and going forward we are looking at the way we interact with members with a stronger emphasis on being interactive, timely and relevant. To this end, we are looking at our membership benefits to align them with contemporary service management and complementary practices and individual professional development.

Conference Committee are putting the final touches to the speaker line-up and we are extremely grateful to our sponsors who continue to support us, the expo hall looks like it will be busy!

Make that effort to get to a State Branch event and mark your diary now so that you can start making plans to be at our 23rd National Conference and Expo in Brisbane from 1-2 September. There is so much knowledge we can all share. Get into the conversation.

Enjoy your Bulletin.
