ReLife Group: Matteo Vignola is the New CEO of Plastic Packaging Division
ReLife Group has appointed Matteo Vignola as the new Chief Executive Officer of its Plastic Packaging Division, tasking him with leading a strategic phase focused on the growth, development, and consolidation of activities. The choice fits into the group’ s path aimed at strengthening industrial and operational expertise in plastics recycling and packaging— segments that are increasingly critical for sustainability and innovation. Vignola, who served as the division’ s CFO for the past four years, brings to his new role solid financial and managerial experience gained also in corporate auditing and consulting. This career path has allowed him to acquire deep knowledge of the sector’ s operational and commercial dynamics. The new CEO’ s priorities include strengthening the growth trajectory and consolidating the division’ s competitive positioning, in a context characterized by the growing centrality of the circular economy and the optimization of recycling processes. Simona and Alberto Malaspina confirm their future support as shareholders.
Giorgio Quagliuolo Appointed New President of Corepla
Giorgio Quagliuolo is the new President of Corepla. The appointment comes during a complex phase for the plastic packaging recycling supply chain, amid tensions over energy costs, market instability, and increasing competition from non-EU virgin polymers. Quagliuolo aims to strengthen the strategic role of recycling in the circular economy and industrial competitiveness:“ Secondary raw materials are decisive for security of supply and environmental goals,” he declared. Despite the context, the Italian system remains solid: in 2025, Corepla sent 1.18 million tons of packaging for recycling, with 970,000 tons actually recycled( 49.6 %), in line with EU targets. The mandate’ s priorities also include adapting to the new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation( PPWR), with a focus on innovation and the development of the secondary raw materials market. Quagliuolo previously served as president of Corepla during the three-year terms of 2007-2010, 2013-2016, and 2020-2023.
