Aliplast Acquires 70 % of Recycler Kronos Polymer Polska
Aliplast( Herambiente Group) has acquired 70 % of Kronos Polymer Polska, a Polish operator specializing in polyethylene( PE) recycling. The transaction, which will be finalized by the end of the year, centers on the industrial site of Gniew, an annual 12,000-ton plant equipped with complete lines for material sorting, grinding, and washing. This facility will allow Aliplast to recycle directly on-site, optimizing logistics and capturing the strong growth in demand in the Polish market. The move responds in a timely manner to the new European PPWR( Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) rules— which will become mandatory starting next August 12— and fits into the Group’ s strategy to double its production capacity to over 210,000 tons per year, thanks also to the new Italian plants in Modena and Borgolavezzaro( Novara).“ This transaction expands our production capacity in line with the Hera Group’ s strategy,” declared Michele Petrone, CEO of Aliplast.“ Strengthening our presence in Poland will allow us to capture the promising growth in demand for recycled plastics in this country”.
