ment of filtration solutions , given that today plastics recycling and post-consumer waste management has become a decisive factor on the path to a sustainable future . These considerations led to the development of One , our first screen changer , with traditional features - above all the waste valve - which starts the discharge cycle once the pre-set pressure level has been reached . The turning point came after an in-depth market research among the world players , in particular German , Italian and Austrian . In the end , we developed Duo , an even more performing machine : a fundamental factor in a market that is forcing us to resort increasingly to post-consumer and highly contaminated waste materials . We launched Duo at K 2022 and its main feature is that it is a continuous-flow screen changer . It no longer uses a waste valve like the One but keeps the line pressure at a constant level instead . Duo generates less residues thanks to the discharge screw independent from the impeller : while the impeller does its job , it is possible to adjust the screw rotation speed , as a result optimising the RPM control .”
THE BENEFITS OF DUO SCREEN CHANGER The great qualities of Duo - Mirco Pegoraro underlines - were confirmed by specific tests carried out in late 2022 , which showed that sustainability and higher productivity can go hand in hand : “ We recorded a production increase of about 20 %, and at the same time a 50 % reduction in residues , which for regenerators means not only big economic savings but also the elimination of the issues related to tons of residues that at a certain point become hardly manageable and must be disposed of . A third strength of Duo consists of the fact that it is a continuous machine not only in terms of the filtration process but also in the cleaning of the screen itself : therefore the screen changes are less frequent and this reduces the machine downtimes mainly associated with these operations by 75 %, to the advantage of productivity . I ’ d like to emphasize that we installed the first two Duo machines between November and December 2022 : the first customer ordered three more after 15 days , and the second customer another two . All this highlights the level of appreciation already reached by a machine which had been developed over two years , despite the recent launch at the K 2022 . An incredible start and I must admit that it is great to see customers coming here to thank us because we were able to solve their problems . We are very happy about it and this confirms that Duo is a lucky and winning machine .” Having said that the recurring problem of today ’ s recyclers - Pegoraro reiterates - is the necessity to deal with heavily contaminated materials as they are forced to expand the range of the materials to be processed , Duo has practically solved the problem : “ Especially because the scraper disk
that cleans the screen works continuously and not intermittently . So , as the contaminants enter the machine , they are removed immediately according to a quasi-selective method : there is more dirt than plastic in the residual waste because the separated

contaminants are constantly extracted , that ’ s all ! This is why much less plastic gets lost compared to traditional methods . We carried out tests on materials with iron contaminant content exceeding 17- 18 % precisely because the current trend is to dig
