the internationalization of Italian companies , we will repropose the area dedicated to start-ups , to provide space for new business ideas within the sector . We are also planning to relaunch the initiative The Innovation Alliance which in 2018 brought together Plast , Ipack-Ima , Print4All and Intralogistica Italia . There is a strong desire among the organizers of these events to get back to working together : we are defining new approaches and synergies through various actions focused on topical issues across all the sectors involved , overcoming the problems caused by the current lack of a common schedule and carrying a shared message throughout the pipeline . Dominating the Plast 2023 stage will be the circular economy , sustainability , energy saving , recycling , and eco-design . The pressure of the public opinion and media in regards to plastics has not relented . All these issues are therefore destined to make their weight felt , especially after the European Commission laid out its proposals for new regulations on plastic packaging and packaging waste .
WHAT INITIATIVES ARE IN PLACE TO DRAW INTERNATION- AL VISITORS ? We are doing a lot of work , partly in collaboration with Agenzia ICE , to attract foreign visitors . Thirty countries around the world are involved in our qualified incoming

buyer programme . Even communication activities have grown enormously . The marketing of Plast 2023 is aimed primarily at Europe , in countries like Germany , France , Spain , and Switzerland . We have rolled out a campaign in North and Sub-Saharan Africa , both areas of strong growth . And also South America , the Middle East and even North America , thanks in part to the space on the calendar between us and NPE . Lastly , we expect the inflow of exhibitors and visitors from China and Asia generally to pick back up , thanks to the post-pandemic re-openings .
HOW DO THINGS STAND IN THE PLASTIC MACHINERY IN- DUSTRY AND WHAT IS THE OUTLOOK FOR THE FUTURE ? We are currently drawing up the preliminary report for 2022 , which so far indicates a growth of 1-2 % over 2021 , which was a very positive year . I ’ ll add that the revenues of Amaplast member companies have grown by 9-10 %, exceeding pre-pandemic levels . 2023 has begun with some hesitancy , but it is proceeding well . Despite the “ black swans ” on the international scene and rising energy costs , most companies , if not almost all , are seeing positive results , with a purchase order portfolio which exceeds the first half year . The problem of spare parts supplies remains . It is improving but still critical because of strong international demand .
