material supplied , so much so that it can now be compared to the virgin resin . On the contrary , in extrusion blow moulding it is still complicated to obtain recycled materials of homogeneous quality . And when considering the higher costs involved , also for energy , as a production plant may need up to 3-4 extruders , honestly I cannot see any real benefit at the moment , except for the inherent value of a greener corporate image . Moreover , many different solutions are proposed to deal with this problem : some would like to focus on the recycling of coextruded multilayer items and others on heterogeneous materials to be separated during recycling , not to mention that it is not possible to use indifferently every material and that the extra costs would still fall on the consumer . Any progress towards a virtuous supply chain is welcome at Meccanoplastica : we have the ideas , we only hope that the global situation will return to normal as soon as possible .” |

K 2022 PREVIEW As always , Meccanoplastica will take advantage of the oncoming K 2022 to showcase the innovations related to its three product lines . At K 2022 , the company will be exhibiting the evolution of a flagship model : the full electric dual-station extrusion blow moulding machine mod . HE480 / D with a clamping force of 12 / 16 tons , a 5-litre machine with a much more compact layout than the standard model . The machine is equipped with two pick & place axial stations , which pick up the finished pieces on one side and collect them on the back side , with a view to optimising and automating the manipulation tasks with the aim of reducing the system ’ s footprint . This solution has been already implemented on larger machines ( the 30 and the 22 ton models ) for specific application sectors . Then , from next June , Meccanoplastica will also cover the production of items based on preforms with the new 4-station Jet 75 injection blow moulding machine . The new design eliminates the stretch section but includes the blow moulding section , which will be added to the traditional 3-station machine for processing polyolefins such as polypropylene . Now , in order to meet more specific and quality needs , a core conditioning station has also been added to produce containers and process “ valuable ” resins such as PET , especially for the cosmetics sector . Up to now , four Jet 75 machines have already been sold . Finally , in the stretch blow moulding business , Meccanoplastica Iberica PET Division will introduce on the market a new machine to complete the existing range , having developed models up to 8 cavities on linear machines , as the market |
Bottles and containers made of PET
does not offer rotary machines . Until now , the company has built machines up to 2 litres of volumetric capacity for PET and since last year a project has also started for the production of 10-litre models . In addition to the machines with 1 , 2 and 3 cavities there will be a 4-cavity version to meet the needs of a fundamental sector such as the beverage / food industry and the growing demand for 5-litre drums .

The Spanish partner , endowed with great creativity , has also added a range of middle-size machines with a high technological content . For example , a 4-cavity machine which only produces cylindrical containers , excluding oval ones , yet guaranteeing an hourly output rate almost equal to that of a rotary machine but with lower energy costs . The MIPET-4Ps – this is the name of the new machine – will be exhibited at the Hispack Fair in Barcelona from 24 to 27 May . |
