moulding , given that the cost of electricity has increased by almost 300 % for some customers . As a result of this situation , selling hydraulic machines has become almost impossible , with the exception of some sectors where the impact of the electricity bill is lower , or in case of specific requests . The future , therefore , will be oriented almost exclusively towards 100 % electric , also for Meccanoplastica .” PET , the protagonist of the stretch blow moulding market , deserves a separate discussion : “ Meccanoplastica Iberica is also growing and consolidating its technology 10 years after its establishment . We are planning to hire a figure capable of creating a solid sales organisation and we are close to the agreement with an accomplished executive with a career of over 25 years in the sector .”

INJECTION BLOW MOULDING AND PET Of course , the market remains jittery , with large changes in orders , so it is difficult to make predictions . However , the market feedback is positive even in this early 2022 , Mencherini underlines : “ In particular with regard to our niche products , that is injection blow moulding machines , outlooks are good as in 2021 the
market figures recorded a very positive upturn , like the value of orders from new customers . For this reason we set up a team headed by a manager who have been operating for a couple of years and have raised the technical level of production . In this regard , it is worth emphasizing the consolidation of our full-electric technology , particularly important in extrusion blow

ORGANISING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE The latest innovation at Meccanoplastica is the creation of an internal customer service organisation : “ One of our production managers has already been detached from his operational tasks to dedicate himself 100 % to customer support with the assistance of our electronic engineer , in order to ensure maximum efficiency . Today 80 % of the back office work involves the various projects and orders generated by the customer service . We are not yet talking about establishing a new business unit but we hope to have one within a year and a half , testifying to an increasingly structured organisation more typical of larger groups . We are trying to change our skin and at the moment the results are supporting this vision : following the merger with Comeel we have become a company with about 65 employees , 21 of whom working in Barcelona , and a turnover of about 25 million euros in 2021 , a sizeable increase .” The company is aiming to further expand its business . Mencherini comments : “ Our growth plan is advancing . We are reorganising our operations together with Comeel , which makes the components of our machines : extrusion heads and units , conveyors and automation . At the moment we have two production departments . Inside one of them we are installing an overhead crane for injection blow moulding machines , while the other will be dedicated to the production of extrusion blow moulding machines . We also intend to purchase a 5,000 s . qm warehouse nearby to increase the production floorspace and the storage capacity , freeing up space for the customer service .”
RECYCLED MATERIALS As regards recycled materials , Mencherini has a pragmatic vision : “ In stretch blow moulding , the R-PET supply chain for packaging is a consolidated and reliable reality for the quality of the
