tions , because it is the customer himself who asks us for the optimal solution and then we evaluate everything together in the end . For example , for a major customer we are now building a multistation solution which is not our classic rotary system but an in-line system : this is because of the considerable weights and sizes involved , as in this case the rotary solution would have been uneconomical given the need to run heavy stations which are in turn equipped with large moulds . We therefore decided to opt for fixed stations so in fact we have two different machines , one with this solution and another one that is rotary for smaller items . It was necessary to choose the most suitable solution , because the small machine cannot do the work of the big one while making small components on the big machine would be a pity . Better then two machines that make two different ranges of items , although obviously the investment was a little higher . This is a classic example of our approach with the customer : in fact , we have never been able to impose a standard but have focused instead on customization to meet the customer ’ s needs even in the details , which then make the difference on the market . Basically , our customers either carry out moulding in the traditional way and therefore know what is needed , or start from scratch after seeing what is on the market and want to replicate a specific product . It is difficult to make it clear that it is not only the size of the machines that counts – a machine with three moulds doesn ’ t necessarily produce three times as much as one with a single mould ! This is above all what is happening in the field of PVC : many have for years recovered and shredded copper cables while few have thought of doing the same with PVC cables , preferring to give them away rather than dispose of them .”
