Next September , at the Plast exhibition in Milan , Meccanoplastica will unveil the renewed version of the 4-cavity full electric MIPET-4P machine for PET stretch-blow moulding ; while a 4-station Jet 75 machine will be on display for the growing injection blow moulding sector .
INJECTION BLOW MOULDING At Meccanoplastica , the main novelty at the moment concerns the injection blow moulding division , underlines Mencherini : „ We are working intently on this product that was previously a niche for us but today has gained importance in terms of turnover , sales , dedicated structures , warehouse and personnel , whose figures have not yet reached - but are now approaching - those of extrusion blow moulding , our historical specialisation field .

The production area
The outlet markets of our injection blow moulding machines are cosmetics and pharmaceuticals . The four 3-station machine models have been joined by the 4-station Jet 75 from 2022 , all full electric . We remain in the traditional field of injection blow moulding with a division active since 2000 . We have twenty year of consolidated experience in electric IBMs ; we were forerunners and still are the only manufacturer on the international panorama of full electric injection blow moulding systems , boasting awards and partnerships with the most prestigious and demanding users in the sector . In spite of this , years ago we consciously decided not to try our hand at injection stretch-blow moulding , so as not to compete with the giants of the sector that have decades of experience and advantage over us .“
Meccanoplastica thus closes its application circle looking in particular at the cosmetics sector , given that the particular PET and PETG resins require heat treatment of the blow mandrels , and thanks to the 4 stations the problem has been eliminated : „ We have already delivered a dozen machines and now that our turnover consists of 20 % aftermarket operations and 80 % sales of new machines . The 4-station model accounts for 12 % of the entire turnover compared to over a third contributed by the injection blow moulding technology as a whole . The 3-station machines are more suitable for productions based on polyolefins and therefore high and low density PE and PP , while the 4-station machines , currently available in a single 75- ton model , is ideal for the production of packaging for mascara and lip gloss “. The 3-station models comes in 55 ton size , now in the re-design phase to reach 60 tons , other sizes are the 85 , the 120 and the 150 ton , the latter available sale since last year . The 175 ton model will be launched in 2024 . „ It ‘ s the area where we can find a wide number of customers . We sell our machines globally , from Europe to Asia ( India for example ). Italy itself is an interesting market , a little smaller than others but with some important customers . And North America , where we have been present for some time , is consolidating . There is no shortage of clean room applications , with maximum performance guaranteed by the full-electric models , mainly focused on the pharmaceutical market , as demonstrated by the recent sale , to a leading German company , of a 4-station machine for medical use and the treatment of a hard resin difficult to work , making blowing aseptic . In the cosmetics market , on the other hand , we look at aesthetic accuracy and at preventing the infamous ‚ black specks ’ that spoil the final product . In any case , the 3-station machines are selling very well in the pharmaceutical sector .“ According to Mencherini , the company ’ s injection blow moulding machines are appreciated for a number of factors : clean electrical technology free from polluting emissions , repeatability of the moulding process and horizontal injection unit to control the preform much better , its thickness and length , and eliminate the small flashes typical of other multi-cavity solutions . Without neglecting the issue of energy savings and that , very much felt in the company , of environmental sustainability : „ We commissioned an external advisor with the calculation of our carbon footprint and the first analysis was made on oil savings compared to the hydraulic machines of competitors : in terms of CO2 emissions , in a machine of intermediate size , the savings are equivalent to the use of four sedan cars for a year . This is a card of great impact to play on the market for our customers . Not to mention that the sector will be obliged to track its harmful emissions with a sustainability report to be then judged by Italian or European bodies or third parties , with sanctions when certain data are omitted
