TRAVEL TALES
Venturing Into The
Unknown
An article by : KATO , Yuka
During the last week of September, I had
received an email out of the blue from a distant
relative in Macau which unexpectedly hit me
with the idea of going over to their place for the
weekend.
As a fresh international student here at EdU,
I barely knew my way around Hong Kong and
Macau was even further out of my realm of
familiarity. I usually have travel anxiety, which
is a neurotic behaviour that my mind brings out
every time I travel alone. My uncle, who is the
cousin of the relative in Macau, had encouraged
me to pay Macau a visit since he shared stories
of how my relatives were very nice people. It is
important to know that I am not a huge fan of
making spontaneous plans.
Toning down my nervousness, I decided,
however, to overcome my fears of venturing
into an unknown territory on my own and took
the HZMB bus to Macau one early Saturday
morning.
