highest rate of child food bank
users in Canada. Winnipeg
Harvest helps feed 60,000
people each month and in that
group of 60,000 approximately
27,000 of them are children.
In October, our school got
together and collected canned
foods and non-perishable
food items to donate to
Winnipeg Harvest. When
the night of Halloween
rolled around students
from Me to We went
around neighbourhoods
near Sargent Park asking
people to help donate canned goods and non-perishable food items. Even students from grade 1 all the way to grade 9 participated, we brought a total of 1,050 canned goods to Winnipeg Harvest. At the end of the month, we delivered it to Winnipeg Harvest and we were thrilled of the good deed we’ve done.
