LET’ S DO BUSINESS
Jazmin Sawyers: the comeback champion
Just two years after rupturing her Achilles tendon and being forced to withdraw from the Paris Olympics, Jazmin Sawyers completed a remarkable return to the top of her sport this summer.
The Stoke-on-Trent-born Olympian claimed long jump gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on 1 August, producing a winning leap of 6.93m at Scotstoun Stadium.
The victory brought Jazmin back to the venue where she won silver at her first major championships 12 years earlier.
A British indoor record holder, sports commentator and presenter, Jazmin will bring her story of recovery, resilience and elite performance to the Let’ s Do Business stage.
Her appearance will explore what it takes to remain focused when carefully made plans fall apart – and how determination, hard work and creativity can help turn a major setback into future success.
Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said:“ Jazmin’ s story is a brilliant example of resilience, determination and what can be achieved when you keep pushing forward.
