BETH PARODI , ZF Global technology leader ZF marked International Women in Engineering Day in June with the appointment of another female engineering apprentice .
Beth Parodi started earlier this year as a Level-3 SQA apprentice .
Having completed her probationary period with the Peterlee company , Beth is now working towards the many technical elements of her three-year apprenticeship .
Beth joins fellow engineering employee Holly Herron , who is into her third and final year of a Level 3 maintenance technician apprenticeship .
Once she has completed the qualification , Holly will hopefully move onto an engineering HNC .
JOANNE LENG , NOF NOF , the UK-wide business development organisation for the energy sector , has announced Joanne Leng MBE will become its new chief executive in January 2022 .
Joanne , who is currently deputy chief executive of the Durham-based experts , will succeed George Rafferty , who has led NOF for 16 years .
She is highly regarded in the energy industry , having worked for NOF for 25 years , developing its culture of supporting members , expanding the service offering and playing an instrumental role in the growth of its international global network of members and partners .
Joanne graduated from the University of Sunderland and immediately joined the organisation in 1996 as an export and marketing advisor .
Over many years she has taken on various management and director roles within the business around events , marketing , business development and successfully set up an Export Club , which saw the organisation become a leading player in international market support .
Joanne is well travelled and has led over 80 trade delegations overseas , bringing new global business to NOF members .
She was awarded an MBE in the Queen ' s New Year ’ s Honours in 2011 for her contribution to the oil and gas industry .
VICTORIA WALKER , RAMSIDE HALL A new County Durham spa director has given up her life on the ocean waves to take up a new role at one of the region ’ s top leisure facilities .
Victoria Walker has spent more than a decade on some of the world ’ s top cruise ships , initially starting as a therapist and working her way up to become head of sales and revenue for the spas on 14 vessels .
But now Victoria has opted to become a
landlubber again and taken up the top role at award-winning the Spa at Ramside , at Ramside Hall Hotel , Golf and Spa on the outskirts of Durham .
Victoria , 30 , ran the spas on behalf of OneSpaWorld across the fleet of Holland and Americas cruise ships and when not travelling across the globe was based in Miami .
AMY NUNN , SUNDERLAND BID Sunderland BID has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new marketing , events and administration assistant .
Amy Nunn , 23 , from South Shields has taken up the new role , which will see her involved in the BID ’ s busy programme of events and providing general support to other members of the team .
Amy comes to the BID following five years at Newcastle ’ s Fenwick store , where she worked her way from the shop floor to an administrative role .
She studied digital film production at university along with a marketing module and now hopes to use some of these skills while working with the BID .
