Richard Swart
RICHARD SWART , ADVANCED MANUFACTURING FORUM Peterlee-based businessman Richard Swart has agreed to take on the role of chair of the Advanced Manufacturing Forum ( AMF ). The global sales and quality director of Berger Group in Peterlee will be a key spokesperson for the forum , amplifying the voice of members and publicly discussing issues impacting them such as skills and commodity shortages and the challenges of Brexit .
Two vice-chairs have also been appointed to support the AMF ’ s new growth strategy and to strengthen its position as a voice for North-East manufacturing companies .
Rachel Mansfield has come in as vice-chair and existing board member Alan Metcalfe has been promoted to vice-chair .
Established by the private sector in 2006 , the AMF is a membership network that offers a single voice on behalf of the manufacturing community in the North- East .
It engages with its members and the wider business community to drive growth , champion innovation and be a platform for the sharing of best practice and collaboration .
DAVID CAMPBELL , THE INN COLLECTION GROUP The Inn Collection Group , the company which opened the Seaburn Inn in June , has announced the appointment of David Campbell as its operations director .
Mr Campbell , who was operations director at The Coaching Inn Group , joins the 23-site

group at a pivotal time as the company begins a new phase of business expansion through acquisitions and organic growth .
Mr Campbell ' s appointment follows The Inn Collection Group ’ s acquisition of several new sites across the north of England , including The Park in Tynemouth , North Tyneside , The Carlton in Lytham St Annes , Lancashire and The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn in Ambleside , Cumbria .
The expanding pubs with rooms operator launched its debut Wearside site , The Seaburn Inn on Sunderland seafront .
Backed by Alchemy and supported with banking through OakNorth , the group ’ s estate list includes further venues in Northumberland , Cumbria , County Durham , Yorkshire and Lancashire .
LEE WEATHERBURN , CREO COMMS Sunderland-based communications consultancy Creo Comms is investing in its creative offering and continuing to grow with the appointment of a new designer .
Lee Weatherburn joins the city centre firm with over 20 years of design experience across a range of clients in B2B and B2C sectors , specialising in graphic and web design .
Lee previously ran design agency , Depict Design , for five years and before that worked as the design , print and web manager at North Tyneside Council , responsible for the graphic design team , web team and an internal print and reprographics department .
He has also previously worked for Newcastle College , the Ministry of Defence and Sage Software , as well as working on a freelance basis for many small to medium-sized businesses and charitable organisations .
CAROLINE WALLACE , BERNICIA North-East housing association Bernicia has moved to further strengthen its senior leadership team with the appointment of highly experienced finance professional , Caroline Wallace .
Caroline takes up the newly created post of director of finance . She joins from travel agent , Hays Travel , the acclaimed national firm with Sunderland roots where she headed up its finance team .
Caroline , from Sunderland , has extensive experience of the housing and education sectors , and her appointment follows the announcement of Jenny Allinson and Lindsay Muers , new into Bernicia senior leadership posts in spring .
Jenny is the new director of corporate governance and Lindsay the associate director of people services .
