Awards recognition has been flooding in for a water services firm

Morrison Water Services ( MWS ) prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of health , safety and innovation to protect and support its people , clients and customers .

That ’ s why it is so proud of its recent success at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents ( RoSPA ) awards , where it earned the Gold Award for outstanding health and safety performance throughout 2021 .
But its award success does not end there , having been shortlisted for several awards at the Water Industry Association Awards ( WIAA ), to be held on June 29 , for commitment to innovation , as well as being a named partner on shortlisted entries made by partner FYLD .
MWS has been shortlisted in the following categories :
Digitalisation Project of the Year Blicker , from Dutch company Clockworks Data Innovation , has helped MWS improve data quality . Using artificial intelligence ( AI ) meter reading assistant technology to translate a photographic image into raw data has guaranteed the quality and consistency of information , first time , every time . This innovation – a first for the water industry – has replaced traditional manual data validation , which is expensive and impacts on the carbon footprint of the business ’ services and its clients .
Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year The Water Division Women ’ s Network ( WDWN ) was launched last September to help empower , nurture and raise the status of women in the workplace .
The network is focused on sharing best practice and providing MWS ’ people , both women and men , with practical tools to learn and share insight about female-centric topics . Providing skills such as resilience , confidence , presentation , mindfulness , goal setting , coaching and allyship sits at the heart of this unique initiative .
FYLD The Alliance or Partnership of the Year and Digitalisation Initiative of the Year
The entries , submitted by FYLD , recognise a proof-of-concept trial for
FYLD ’ s AI safety and productivity platform on one of the MWS North contracts . The pilot was so successful it was immediately rolled out on capital delivery and repair and maintenance gangs across all MWS North contracts . The enhanced visibility and data of fieldwork operations through the FYLD platform enables a targeted risk intervention approach where supervisors can better prioritise their time .
Scott Beard , executive director , said : “ We are challenging traditional solutions and replacing them with more sustainablydriven measures . By embracing innovation and celebrating our people , we continue to demonstrate why we are the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK .”
