Just when we thought we were out of the woods , along comes another time of struggle . As we come out the other side of the Coronavirus pandemic – with all the emotional and financial toll that brought so many of us – we ’ re now all being hit with huge surges in the cost of living .
Much of that surge is down to rising household energy costs as wholesale prices for natural gas – which powers our country – soar .
And , while we at px Group can ’ t impact energy prices , over the past few months we ’ ve been looking at other ways to help .
For this article , then , I wanted to cover a couple of areas : ways in which we have been trying to help local stakeholders , including politicians and businesses , understand the issues at hand ; and provide some insight and perhaps assistance in explaining how we ’ ve gone about implementing our growth plans .
Inside Energy At px Group , our teams manage and operate some of the country ’ s most important energy assets . We ’ ve grown considerably in the last 20 years as one of the most respected and trusted operators of critical national infrastructure in the country .
Today , we ’ re responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of up to 30 per cent of the country ’ s gas supply .
The beating heart of our operation is based on the banks of the Tees at px House , which is staffed by knowledgeable and enthusiastic local people .
Just ten miles away is one of our biggest operational responsibilities , the Teesside Gas Processing Plant ( TGPP ), while north of the border , we run the St
Fergus Gas Terminal “ both of which are owned by North Sea Midstream Partners ( NSMP ).
We operate many other key strategic sites on behalf of our clients including renewables , power plants and terminals . Being so deeply ingrained in energy , we ’ re naturally very aware of how intense the spotlight is on our industry and its businesses currently .
The ins and outs of the sector are complicated with so many factors at play , so lately we ’ ve been making a concerted effort to help local stakeholders better understand the local and national energy landscape .
As part of that , we ’ ve been working with local politicians from both sides of the House of Commons .
This year , we have welcomed both of Stockton ’ s Members of Parliament to px Group .
