Basketball
Playing basketball allowed me to make friendships that could last a lifetime. It's a special feeling being on a team of 12 and growing together year by year. Each season made the school year more endurable because I could look forward to practice, games, tournaments and team bonding.
Basketball has always been a part of my life. It gives me motivation and helps me strive to become a better student athlete. Basketball has also given me many opportunities and has allowed me to make more friends and meet new people.
Sports gave me something to look forward to after classes. It also helped make best friends and create different bonds with my teammates that with last a long time.

It kept me really active and I really appreciate how it gave me a strive to meet new people and compete with them as not only friends but as fellow raiders seeking to represent our school.
Sports gave me a way to use my free time effectively and learn time management skills throughout all of high school. I had new friends and memories that I wouldn't have if I didn't do sports.

I was also able to learn responsibility and time management; having to practice, manage my weight, compete, travel all over the nation and get my homework done. I wouldn't trade this sport for the world.
It kept me healthy, and guided me to learning how to make better decisions in life. One person who motivates me is one of my coaches Jacob Palomino.

Sports made an impact on my high school experience because I was able to develop many close bonds with people on the team.
Sports was an outlet for me growing up in a rough environment. I could have easily went down the wrong path but I chose sports and family over everything.

For me, sports taught me how to balance and recognize my priorities. With this mindset, my demeanor was driven, whether it’s sports, academics, relationships with others, or improving my habitual responsibilities. These qualities shined throughout high school, contributing to my scholar athletic achievements along with my academic success.
