“ Infinity has recruited four new business development consultants , and our business development team has done an awesome job .
“ We ’ re now reaching down to Kent , South Wales , Somerset , Bournemouth … I ’ ve had a few trips down past Stonehenge recently !
“ A lot of clients we see weren ’ t aware of R & D , and how it could benefit them as a business . However , once our business development guys spoke to them , showed them the process and they got their own claims in , they were keen to let their friends or colleagues know about us .
“ The results speak for themselves , with some clients having successful claims in excess of £ 1m .”
As well as Infinity ’ s four new business development consultants , adding to the 10 already on the books , Infinity has recruited a financial administration and credit controller who , says Tony , “ has done a brilliant job .”
The firm has also signed a deal with one of the country ’ s leading employment agencies , which provides staff in warehousing and logistics for several large blue-chip companies .
Tony explained : “ They turn over £ 100m a year and we run a personal accident plan for their staff .
“ It ’ s an accidental death policy but at the same time , it covers everyone for broken bones , hospitalisation , that sort of thing .”

completed , it ’ s about growing that side of the business too , with experienced financial adviser and Alpha founder John Murphy still at the helm for now .
Tony said they would be looking for a full-time office manager , and for a new IFA to replace John when he steps down next year , having agreed to delay his retirement to see Alpha through the transition to Infinity ownership .
He said : “ In the past few months for Alpha , we ’ ve recruited three new IFAs , two new mortgage and protection advisors , with one specialising in adverse lending – people who can ’ t get mortgages , basically – and a part-time office manager , although we will be looking for a full-time office manager .
“ It has been great to be able to still grow and get new staff in , despite the challenges of Covid .
“ We ’ ve changed our compliance partnerships , so we are with a nationwide compliance network now . We ’ ve moved to Tenet , which is a big step because they are helping take us to the next level .
“ With Tenet , we have also overhauled our whole new client relationship management system . It ’ s streamlined the process , allowing the business to flourish and allowing us to go out and recruit .”
Tony expects the move into a new office in Yarm High Street was imminent to be a real game-changer .
And all this expansion comes on the back of the most traumatic time many businesses will ever experience .
Tony said : “ It has been difficult during Covid . We ’ ve had meetings in service stations , plus countless Teams and Zoom calls .
“ We ’ ve worked really hard to adhere to the restrictions but at the same time , we ’ ve grown and tried to help businesses grow , which is what we ’ re all about at the end of the day .
“ The move onto Yarm High Street means we ’ ll be in a fantastic position . We ’ re at 80 High Street , next to Roseberry Newhouse estate agents , and we ’ ve got the first and second floors , so it ’ s a big space for us .
“ It will be a space for client meetings , there ’ s a boardroom area , we ’ ve got all the tech we need in there and people will be able to walk in off the street , which is something I hope will help increase our business .
“ I get excited just thinking about it , to be honest .”
