Year of change and rapid growth for training and coaching specialist

Life at Enterprise Made Simple ( EMS ) has been very different over the last 15 months . With the majority of its workforce working from home , the development of a new online digital training offering and moving into a brand-new training centre , EMS is unrecognisable from the company at the start of the pandemic .
“ I knew we had to change and build upon our core strengths if we were to survive the enforced lockdown ,” said CEO Phil Teasdale . “ And with the past year preventing us from meeting and training people on a face-to-face basis , business life was even harder .”
EMS has adapted to meet those challenges and after a string of impressive contract wins , the future is looking much brighter .
“ It was important for us to look to new routes to market , something we train people in business on every week in our award-winning Going For Growth training , but sometimes you need to take your own advice ,” Phil adds .
With contract successes not only in the Tees Valley and the wider North-East but also in Birmingham , team EMS is beginning to take on a very different shape .
“ We ’ re going through very rapid expansion and are expecting to double our workforce of 20 by December 2021 ,” said Phil . “ We have new members joining us and expect to add further team members in every month of 2021 .”
The new influx begins with two new members of training director Carol Metcalfe ’ s team .

Adam Gray joined as a digital business specialist in May , bringing more than 12 years of experience helping clients generate growth through robust marketing communication strategies .
He delivers the digital elements of the Going For Growth and Greater Growth training courses at EMS ’ s new digital executive education centre .
Gary Furmedge has more than 13 years of experience developing and delivering impactful leadership and management qualifications .
His experience includes working with local , national and international businesses across a wide range of sectors , including food retail , motor dealership groups and engineering consultancies .
Jo Long will help deliver award-winning training directly to businesses . Her strategy , marketing , operational process , project management and relationshipbuilding and management skills are second to none , with experience working in sectors from large corporates to microbusinesses across the region .
“ I like to uncover new opportunities for sustainable growth , ways to manage the current volatile economic landscape and , ultimately , create a positive impact on your business ’ s bottom line ,” Jo said .
Nicky Burke heads up the Business Support Team as business support manager .
“ After setting up and running three businesses within the leisure and hospitality sector , for the past 14 years I have shared my experiences to guide and support other ambitious entrepreneurs
working within the business support arena ,” Nicky said .
“ I am extremely passionate about enterprise and love helping others grow and achieve their goals .”
Joining Nicky ’ s team as a business advisor is Daniel Mearns , who worked with small businesses in the logistics sector for more than 20 years .
Daniel is looking forward to expanding EMS ’ s reach into the Tees Valley ’ s growing construction , logistics and manufacturing sectors .
Finally , new business development manager Matthew Connolly will work closely with director Andrea Clarke in a highly public-facing role .
“ I ’ m responsible for increased engagement for all the services we offer ,” said Matthew . “ To do that I ’ m looking to speak with ambitious business owners and senior staff who are passionate about growing their business and those they employ .”
Phil Teasdale says EMS ’ s eye-catching growth is far from over and is set to continue over the next year .
He said : “ We are actively recruiting in the areas of training , business support , digital marketing and sales and would love to speak to anyone who is looking to take the next step and be part of a business that ’ s really making a difference .”
