Teri Ellington , 24
MANAGING DIRECTOR , ELLINGTON TIMEPIECE
Teri struggled with mental health issues at school , resulting in her suffering from agoraphobia , a condition that left her crippled with anxiety and terrified to leave her own home . After losing her job two months before Christmas , Teri used her last £ 80 to set up Ellington Timepiece from her Ingleby Barwick bedroom . She now uses her high-quality watch brand to raise awareness of mental health issues , with her products featuring in national newspapers .
Rob Bedford , 26
DIRECTOR , A BONEHEAD ' S HOME
Rob is the founderdirector of a self-styled
“ rad as heck ” design studio . Having worked as a freelance designer , the Teesside University graduate set up A Bonehead ’ s Home . The firm supplies the music , education and digital sectors with branding , merchandising , illustration , social media layout and user interface for apps and games .
Glenn Lamming , 29
RESEARCH SCIENTIST , CPI
Glenn is seen as a “ star of the future ” at CPI , thanks to his ability to make a big impact on a broad range of scientific challenges , using chemistry knowledge gained through his degree and
PhD . He has helped SMEs to develop and take products to market , providing innovative solutions to industrial challenges . Noted for his positive personality and excellent communication skills , he has developed a reputation as the ‘ go to ’ colleague for materials science .
Marcia Pryce , 23
GRADUATE PROCESS ENGINEER , JOHNSON MATTHEY
Trailblazer Marcia is on a mission to show that engineering is a great career path for young women . Marcia was the winner of the Breaking the Mould category at the 2019 Tees Businesswomen Awards while studying for her master ’ s degree at Lancaster University and on placement on Teesside ’ s Seqens ( formerly Chemoxy ) plant . She ’ s now thriving in her first employed role on the Billingham site of global science and chemicals firm Johnson Matthey .
Kheira Reeks , 22
WEB SUPERVISOR , PSYCHE
Fashion Journalism graduate Kheira joined Psyche in 2019 , initially as a content writer before her promotion to become the fashion brand ’ s youngest ever web supervisor . Psyche owner Steve Cochrane credits her with “ significantly raising awareness ” of their brand on a national scale and “ being hungry for knowledge ”.
