Officially launched in June 2020, the Black Deaf Center (BDC) is a one-stop resource center
focusing on Black Deaf people and their communities, organizations, businesses, and scholarships.
One of the most important features of the center is vlogs, which cover a variety of topics, including
racism, white privilege, decolonization, Black American Sign Language, literature (e.g., poetry and
stories) as signed by Black Deaf people, history (e.g., Black Deaf schools and educators), and the
firsts (e.g., the first Black Deaf person to obtain a doctorate in the U.S.). Please take a minute to visit
the BDC website, learn about the culture and lives of Black Deaf people, and work towards social
justice.
