A group from London,
Internet Week Europe
2010, has renewed
interest in how we
have archived digital
media since the birth
of the web by creating
an exhibition organized
by Jim Boulton. They
sought to uncover and
restore some of the first
websites to appear on
the World Wide Web.
The sites they restored
were only 20 years old,
yet the software and
hardware had become
fragmented. In some
cases the sites had completely disappeared.
The exhibit archived
the formative years of
digital culture. Curator
