years old as well as books thousands
of years old. Classic books, fables and
poems passed down from generation
to generation – from story tellers,
to clay tablets and to paper. Today
we see a new format for books and
literature. Similar to the past, contemporary scholars seek to preserve

text by digitizing it into bits and
bytes; as technologies evolve we
need to secure history and record it
accurately. One new challenge for
publishers is to create digital media
that will stand the test of time.
