The‘ cutting to bending’ journey
Mazak’ s latest developments in laser technology will be showcased on stand D26 in Hall 11 at EuroBLECH 2026 in Hanover, Germany( 20-23 October 2026). The company will present four machines spanning tube, structural and flat sheet processing( including three new models), alongside its first product launch in a new range of products. The international sheetmetal working technology exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to see the machines in operation and discuss application requirements with Mazak specialists. The line-up highlights Mazak’ s commitment to supporting a broad spectrum of manufacturing applications, from heavyduty structural tube processing and highpower plate cutting to everyday sheet metal production and, for the first time, a new product premiere.
The FG-400 NEO tube processing machine.
FG-400 NEO 6kW
For large-scale structural tube work, the FG-400 NEO is Mazak’ s flagship machine, handling round material of up to Ø406mm( 16”) and square sections up to 305 x 305mm( 12.01” x 12.01”), with workpieces of up to 8.07 metres( 318.11”) long and covering cutting, bevelling, drilling and tapping in one system.
“ A four-chuck configuration stabilises the material throughout processing, synchronising chuck rotation and movement to minimise distortion and maintain accuracy, even when machining complex profiles. Equipped with a 6kW fibre laser source, the machine delivers faster cutting speeds across a wider range of materials, including reflective metals such as aluminium and copper,” confirmed Mazak.
The SmoothTUBE CNC system manages operation, pairing dual 21.5” touch screens with a streamlined HMI to control the entire process from one interface. The 3D cutting head with A- and B-axis improves joint quality, reducing fitting gaps and postprocessing needs.
OPTIPLEX HP with SmoothCUT 15kW and 20kW resonators
With the 3015 and 4220 models, Mazak’ s OPTIPLEX HP series brings a new generation of high-power fibre lasers for thick and medium-thick plate. A 20kW SmoothCUT resonator extends cutting capability across a broad range of materials without compromising stability or edge quality, according to Mazak.
“ The increased output supports higher cutting speeds and productivity, particularly when processing medium and thick materials: trials on 50mm mild steel demonstrate controlled taper and clean, consistent edges. The two models share identical axis speeds and accelerations— 120m / min. on X and Y, 60m / min. on Z— with the principal difference between the two being the working area: 3,050 x 1,525mm for the 3015 HP against 4,120 x 2,050mm for the 4220 HP,” added Mazak.
Paired with Grand Cut technology, SmoothCUT is designed to keep material temperature stable while limiting nozzle heat, supporting performance on thick sections. The 21.5” MAZATROL SmoothLX CNC runs operation with clear nested-layout visualisation, while Mazak iCONNECT adds remote diagnostics, monitoring and extended-coverage service options.

to medium-thickness materials, built for daily production. Against the wider OPTIPLEX Ez range, it features a newly engineered body, SmoothCUT resonator and redesigned cutting head and lifting performance.
Ease of use and shopfloor efficiency were key factors in the development: wide-opening front and side doors speed up loading and unloading, while the 21.5” MAZATROL SmoothLX CNC offers clear nested-layout views and straightforward operation.
The Ez-L also inherits a new-generation nozzle system from Mazak’ s higher-end platforms. Combined with Grand Cut and SmoothCUT, it is designed to improve cutting stability and gas utilisation, helping to enhance process stability while reducing operating costs. Compatibility with Mazak’ s automation for loading and unloading allows users to expand productivity as production requirements increase. To further support productivity and unattended operation, the machine can also be integrated with Mazak automation systems for automatic loading and unloading.
Founded in Japan in 1919, Yamazaki Mazak Corporation is a global manufacturer of advanced machine tools and laser processing systems. In Europe, its laser activities focus on solutions for tube, profile and sheet metal cutting, supported by the European Technology Centre – Laser in Cerro Maggiore, near Milan( Italy).
