FACE TO FACE
CLOOS automation solutions can be flexibly scaled and integrated into a wide variety of production environments.
systems. We focus on intuitive programming, safety and flexibility and are developing new technologies such as AI-assisted path planning to further enhance our offerings.
ISMR: Are there any products / technologies that you have released or are releasing this year that you would like to discuss?
SP: While CLOOS is traditionally known for heavy welding, we have invested significantly in thin material processes such as Fine and MoTion Weld in recent years. Nevertheless, we remain committed to our leadership in heavy welding.
This year, we are launching TANDEM +, the next evolution of our TANDEM process, which we originally introduced in 1996. TANDEM + offers low energy consumption, low heat input and the highest deposition rate.
ISMR: What will you be showcasing at Schweissen & Schneiden and at Blechexpo / Schweisstec this year?
SP: At SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN( Hall 3, Booth 3C53), under the motto“ Powerful Connections for Strong Performances,” we will present the world premiere of our new TANDEM + process, along with innovative robot systems, digital solutions and the complete portfolio of QINEO welding machines. At SCHWEISSTEC( Hall 9, Booth 9306), we will also focus on both manual and automated welding.
In addition to these major trade fairs, we will also be present at FABTECH( booth # B17051) and other international exhibitions. Furthermore, our annual Technology Days held at our company headquarters and other locations worldwide, allow us to demonstrate our full range of expertise in a more in-depth and hands-on setting than traditional trade shows.
ISMR: How do you embed sustainability into your machines, internal systems and operations?
SP: In 2025, we achieved certification for our environmental management system, further reinforcing our commitment to sustainable operations. Sustainability is a core principle at CLOOS. We develop highly efficient welding processes, equipment and production lines that minimise energy consumption and environmental impact.
Our machines feature eco modes and are designed using recyclable materials and modular components. Internally, we have implemented green energy solutions at our headquarters, track our carbon footprint and engage employees in sustainability initiatives.
ISMR: Is there anything else that you wish to add?
SP: Technology is at the heart of our company— and education is the key to driving it forward. We believe that innovation thrives when young, curious minds are empowered with the right skills and opportunities.
That’ s why, even in economically challenging times, we continue to invest in training and development. Around 10 % of our employees in Germany are apprentices or students, reflecting our commitment to nurturing the next generation of tech talent. Half of our workforce has been trained in-house, and the average length of service is nearly 20 years.
This combination of fresh ideas and longstanding expertise ensures that we remain at the forefront of technological progress.
ISMR: Thank you for your time. n

CLOOS at S & S 2025
CLOOS will be presenting pioneering technologies for arc welding at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 in Essen, Germany( 15-19 September 2025). The focus will be on the world premiere of the new MIG / MAG welding process TANDEM +, robot systems, digital solutions and its complete portfolio of QINEO welding machines.
TANDEM + is a three-wire process for MIG / MAG welding technology. During the live demonstration in a fully automated robot cell, visitors will be able to experience first-hand how the process works in practice. TANDEM + increases the deposition rate with a reduced number of welding layers and shorter welding times. This, said CLOOS, makes the process suitable for large-volume welding work in industries such as railway vehicle construction, wind power and steel construction.
CLOOS will also be exhibiting a compact standard robot system that demonstrates various welding processes and components in a modular design. This cell will illustrate how CLOOS technology can be flexibly scaled and integrated into a wide range of production environments— from single part to series production.
Below: CLOOS TANDEM + arc technology.
Another highlight will be the ArcBoT cobot solution, suitable for small quantities, varying component geometries and flexible production environments. Among other things, the MoTion Weld welding process is used: an energy-reduced, low-spatter short arc with reversing wire, specially developed for the thin sheet-metal sector.
CLOOS’ s QINEO series of welding machines on display will include the QINEO StarT entry-level model for manual MIG / MAG welding. QINEO NexT is the versatile, high-tech welding power source that covers a wide range of welding processes and is suitable for manual and automated welding. QuesT is CLOOS’ s high-end solution for demanding TIG welding. All QINEO machines have a modular design and can be flexibly adapted to new requirements. OPC UA interfaces for Industry 4.0 applications are available as an option.
