ISMR: What are your strategic and technical objectives? How do you aim to achieve these?
SP: Our strategic objective is to maintain leadership in high-end welding and to be recognized as the process leader for welding applications. To achieve this, we are investing in infrastructure and talent across our global locations, expanding our portfolio of modular and scalable automation systems, and integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into our welding processes to ensure predictive quality and operational efficiency. Additionally, we are enhancing our customer support through digital services and remote diagnostics to provide faster and more effective assistance.
ISMR: You have made significant investments over the last year, with a larger location in the USA and larger sites in India and Turkey. You have just completed a new hall, with an assembly area of 2,400 square metres for automation projects, at your HQ in Germany. What is your strategy for growth?

SP: Our growth strategy is based on building a global structure that allows us to demonstrate our competence locally. By investing in new facilities in the USA, India, Turkey and Germany, we are responding to increasing demand and ensuring that our production and service capabilities are aligned with regional market needs.
We are focusing on turnkey automation projects and customised welding solutions, and we are strengthening our strategic partnerships with OEMs and system integrators to expand our reach and impact. We are also committed to increasing local added value by enhancing local engineering, production and service capabilities. This ensures faster response times, better customer support and solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of each market.
ISMR: Please outline your views on the current global business climate for sheetmetal / welding professionals.
SP: The global business climate is highly dynamic and changes rapidly. Despite the challenges, we see significant growth opportunities, particularly in Asia and North America. The demand for automation is increasing due to labour shortages and the need for higher quality standards. However, supply chain volatility and rising energy costs continue to pose challenges.
At the same time, sustainability and digital transformation are becoming key drivers of investment decisions, and we are seeing strong growth in emerging markets as well as reshoring trends in developed economies.
ISMR: How do you view the rise of artificial intelligence( AI) for machine tool development and manufacturing in general? How are you using AI in your business?
SP: Artificial intelligence is transforming manufacturing, and we are actively embracing this change. At CLOOS, we are already using
