EMO Hannover focuses on innovation

With its motto‘ Innovate Manufacturing’, EMO Hannover 2025 will highlight innovation, internationality, inspiration and the future of metalworking. The global trade show for production technology will be held from 22-26 September 2025 in Hannover, Germany. It will present the entire valueadded chain for metalworking from machine tools, production systems, additive processes, precision tools and automation through to measurement technology, quality assurance, software and accessories. ISMR’ s September issue will be distributed at the event in Hannover.
“ Nearly all producers are facing the same major challenges: modernising production, developing strategies to combat the shortage of skilled workers, implementing solutions for a more circular economy and improved resource efficiency. EMO Hannover 2025, a leading trade fair for production technology, will showcase a wide range of innovations, solutions and support for modernisation processes,” the show organiser, VDW( the German Machine Tools Builders’ Association), explained.
EMO is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In 2023 more than 1,800 exhibitors from 45 countries attracted around 92,000 trade visitors from almost 140 countries

to EMO Hannover. The five largest visitor countries were Turkey; China; the Netherlands; Italy and Poland. Around one third of the trade visitors came from Asia.
“ Trade visitors to EMO come from all over the world. Every one of them is a potential customer. However, they come to EMO to obtain information on the latest range of machine tools, solutions and services worldwide, become acquainted with new suppliers and prospects, and initiate potentially new supplier relationships,” said Dr. Markus Heering, Executive Director of the VDW.
EMO offers direct access to leading manufacturers and suppliers of customised production solutions in engineering and showcases advances in metalworking. Visitors can experience machine tools in action at the trade show. They can also discuss and confer with industry experts and specialists on the stands as well as during presentations, workshops and live demonstrations.
Current global challenges in the industry include intensifying competition, rising costs and some investors taking a‘ wait-and-see approach’. The demand for sustainable products is increasing. The shortage of skilled workers is also making advances more difficult in some places while the integration of new technologies( such as artificial intelligence and additive manufacturing) necessitates continuous advanced training. EMO will present the entire metalworking value chain.
“ During EMO 2025, almost 1,400 exhibitors from 35 countries will present solutions to these challenges. Experts will discuss the megatrends of automation, digitalisation( including artificial intelligence) and sustainability, and examine their progress in metalworking,” explained Dr. Heering. n
