PRODUCT REVIEWS iQS and cobot welding innovations
The new iQS device generation for MIG / MAG welding.
TouchSense, SeamTracking and SeamPilot for cobot welding.
The new MicorMIG mobile.
Lorch Schweißtechnik is showcasing welding technology at this year’ s Schweissen & Schneiden trade show in Essen, Germany( 15-19 September 2025). For the first time, Lorch will be exhibiting on a joint stand with the European DAIHEN Group( Hall 5, Stand H18).
“ We will showcase our iQS MIG / MAG inverter platform for industrial welding. This newly developed, robust inverter offers the welder control stability with a perfect arc. Using the intelligent Smart Process Control Engine, welding processes can now be developed even faster and transferred to the system. Extended networking will enable new welding processes or test versions of characteristic curves to be easily uploaded via Ethernet or WLAN in the future. A Smart Cockpit ensures quick and easy operation, and the newly

“ In addition to tested Speed processes such as SpeedPulse XT, SpeedArc and SpeedTwin, a new SpeedWave process is now available that has been specially developed for aluminium welding to prevent porosity. The iQ LMS push-pull torch is also tailor-made for the iQS, welding precisely and cleanly( even with long hose packages) thanks to constant wire guidance,” it continued.
Another focus will be Lorch Cobot Welding Solutions with new functions. Lorch will be demonstrating application tools such as TouchSense, SeamTracking and SeamPilot, which are designed to simplify seam tracking in collaborative welding and increase the efficiency of cobot welding. The new Multilayer feature will be making its trade show debut( for weld seams in multiple layers). Just one seam needs to be taught, and the cobot will then independently calculate“ the best torch position and optimal angle for each layer.” Lorch Cobot Welding Solutions can now be combined with the new iQS inverter platform.
“ The new APR 900 PLUS helmet generation will also be on display at the trade show. Thanks to its enlarged field of vision, numerous additional functions and certification in accordance with the latest safety standards, it offers welders even greater comfort and safety. Also on display will be the LMS and iQ-LMS Performance torches as well as the MicorMIG series( including its latest successor, the MicorMIG mobile),” explained Lorch.
Lorch will be exhibiting at the trade show in Essen for the first time with the DAIHEN Group, of which it has been a part since 2023. Covering a total area of 700 square metres, Lorch Schweißtechnik will be joined by OTC Daihen Europe; DAIHEN Varstroj; Femitec; Rolan Robotics BV and LASOtech Systems, showcasing welding technology and solutions in automation and robotics. n
