The TWIN DISK system , featuring two independent heads simultaneously working on the same gantry , is designed to double the productivity of a laser cutting system . Another TECOI development is its DRILTEC PLUS , a multi-tool machining head able to carry out drilling , tapping and countersinking operations . It was developed by TECOI to extend the versatility of its laser cutting stations .

At EuroBLECH in Hanover , TRUMPF is launching a new machine that automatically prepares components for welding . The TruLaser Series 3000 Bevel Cut Edition can produce bevelled cutting edges ( chamfers ) on the top and bottom edge of the component while cutting .

“ This ensures optimum preparation of the welding edges and saves an otherwise necessary downstream work step . The new machine can apply chamfers to sheets of up to 25mm thick . Thanks to the design of the cutting unit , the machine can create chamfers of up to 50 degrees , depending upon sheet thickness , which is more than the 45 degrees that were previously standard in the industry ,” explained TRUMPF . The new OPTIPLEX 3015 Ez . machine , the OPTIPLEX 3015 Ez , at EuroBLECH 2024 .

The 6kW machine on display at EuroBLECH will be exhibited as part of a fully integrated cell , which takes the workpiece from raw material through to the finished parts ,” Mazak told ISMR .

In addition to the OPTIPLEX Ez , which is equipped with a three-pallet changer to optimise cycle time , the cell comprises a Mazak CST 3015 storage automation system featuring eight shelves ( six for loading raw materials and two for unloading remnant sheets ). It also features a Mazak SMART MANUFACTURING CELL , a robotised sorting system to separate the finished parts and place the parts on a pallet , ready for the next process .
